Obviously myself and APD are bored out of our skulls and sitting around spending too much time at the computer compiling photos and videos from the 04/05 season.

Here is my compilation from the stellar 04/05 season.

Very nice! Looks like you put some time into this vid. What do you use for editing software? I would like to pick up a DV camera to document this season. Not sure what I should get for editing software though.

edit: Would like to have a copy of this on DVD. Any chance you can burn me one if I pay for ship and DVD?

edit2: Btw, your stuff gets me more stoked about skiing/touring than any of the major film companies. Cheers to all the hard work you put in each and every day out.

iski: Unfortunately, it would look like ass on DVD because most of the footage was shot with a 1ccd, dirty lens camcorder. And I didn't format those winter videos the right way to retain the resolution for DVD.

This winter everything will be shot on tripod, with the new 3ccd DV, and a clean lens. No more shaky cam.

Software: Vegas 6.b, just upgraded. But the depth of tools in Vegas 6 is staggering compared to Vegas 4.0. I am buying a 14 hour DVD set just to learn how to use all it's functions. It's endless.

not even. at first you might be but most people ski with them slightly turned out (flexed wrist). they saved me before and the benefits far out weigh the risk of falling on one. you'd have to turn it completely around and take a direct hit to do any real damage. it's hard to do but i'm sure someone could find a way to do it.

Bummer . Excuse my camcorder jongness, but what does "ccd" mean? I'm still looking for a camcorder, and would like to eventually get my stuff so I can transfer over to DVD. Any help would be appreciated.

3ccd is basically three chips capturing Red, Blue, Green. Versus a 1ccd, which rams it all into one. The resolution is way better, the colors are better, etc, etc. My camcorder has 1/4" ccd's, the spendier 3ccd's are 1/3" (Canon XL-1, etc) I bought my Pany because it is lighter, and more compact than the Canon. And I don't feel like hauling all that shit around in the mountains.

Might want to consider buying the Panasonice GS400. A small, compact, relatively cheap 3ccd camcorder.

Someone has WAY too much time on his hands. Great little viddy, though, nice distraction from work.

Re: Whippets; I've taken some impressive beaters while skiing with them (anyone who has seen me ski can vouch for my lack of talent), and I've never gotten so much as a scratch.
