Question Question for French Canadian Mags (or those "in the know")

So I just got back from my annual soccer tournament up in Montreal and my subsequent road trip up to Quebec City... and I saw an awful lot of shirts which said "fuck le mode" or something similar.

What exactly does that mean? Who is mode? Why is there such aggression towards him? These pretzels are making me thirsty!

    Merci.

well, "le mode" translates as "fashion". not sure why the quebecois would have that sentiment though

Le Mode is the guy that invented ice cream on the side of another dessert item.He is considered a secessionist or splitter by the true conservative dessert crowd. Only the over use of meringue is considered a more flagrant abuse of power!
    Calmer than you dude

    Ah ha!

(although I think Arno hit it... said shirts were mainly worn by the non-comformist types as opposed to the more typical and fashionalbe Quebecois)
