    Sometimes dreams do come true...

Unlike phUnk, I'll post at least a teaser pic.

That is what she'll look like...when I can afford to build her up in 6 months. But the frame is mine!!!! Ooooooooohhhhh...squishy...

it is gonna blow your mind, duuuuuuuuuude!!!

Seriously, riding that rig is a life changing moment, mountain biking rises to a whole other level. sort of like going from your G4s to Spatulas on a powder day.

And the added bonus is, you won't continually trash the expensive components on your 5spot from riding a trail bike like you are racing DH.

Bwa! 6 months my ass. You're gonna wait 'til next season to ride that beauty? I don't think so.

Very nice, Arty. Can't wait to see the pics of it complete....next month.

Do yourself a favor, throw a 66 or 888 on that thing. Anything less would be a disservice.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

    [Cartman]Here's a little dreidel
That's small and made of clay
But i'm not gonna play with it
    'Cos dreidel's fucking gay.[/Cartman]

Yup, it's Trans Blue, but that picture doesn't do it justice. It's much purtier in real life. That picture makes it look baby blue, when it's really more of a shiny metallic blue. I got it used on a sweet deal from a local shop owner. Many thanks to lph for cluing me in to this.

    But...I'm...broke...

888rc all the way baby! 200mm of squishy goodness. I do have time to accept other recommendations though. Doesn't seem like there's much with 8" of squish, and that also has the reputation of the 888.

    What reputation would that be?

Fork kicks ass, seriously. Maybe think about the Fox 40 as well, but it's a wee bit expensive. Do not even consider a Manitou. Just don't do it.

Oh, and with more travel comes greater expectations.

    Kickass ride man.

888 all the way. Screw the overpriced Fox (although I would love one).

If you get the 04/05 888 you will probably want low-rider crowns.

For the BB you want 73mm X 128mm in order for the setup to work well with an Evil DRS, which you will also want.

    Good luck.

    No, then I'll be jealous...maybe.

BTW - my other bike is a 5-Spot and me likey very much.

I just thought of one other thing. Next time I'm in Moab I should break out this line...

"Wow! Your eyes match the color of my VP-Free!"

hmmm, 888 sounds nice doesnt it.

    770.99 on beyondbikes

Plus, they have 10% off everything til the 6th. So, is ~700 for a 888rc a good deal? Because my index finger is feeling itchy.

Ok, now that I have this...

...will someone please buy me this...

On a related note, after breaking my rear brake lever this weekend I was forced to rent a VP on Sunday. I have no clue why, but they had it set up with a Fox 36 and a fairly long stem. Now, I'm not exactly a small person nor do I have short arms. And if you look at the Santa Cruz charts I'm on the high end of the scale for the large VP-Free. When I rode this damn thing, my arms were completely strectched out and my back hurt like all hell at the end of the ride. Not to mention the fact that the bike dove really easily since it was pitched forward with that tiny fork on it. Basically, only a gorilla could have ridden this bike. And what was with the climbing setup? It's a friggen 8" bike, set it up like one!
