One final thing...you may see me xc skiing through your neighborhood in my underwear. I bring roller skis with old school tele bindings mounted on them and usually roll a morning ski early in the week before the playa gets too bumpy.

I’ll notify our hecklers. Would be awesome to have you roll into our dome on those.

Holy shit, this year was rugged. I was there for 12 days, and several 15+ year Burners I met either bailed or said it was the worst dust conditions they had ever experienced. 105 degree temps didn't exactly help the comfort either.

It was nonetheless magical and spectacular.

it took my friend 9 others from camp to pavement. The three years I went, I always took the burner express which made leaving way easier. Hoping to take the 4 year old next year but not sure she would be able to ride out a week long white out

Yeah, exits were super tough, and BMIR was giving out inaccurate info. 8+ hours from gate to pavement was common. We left today Tues at 0730 and drove straight out.

The 3 full-day whiteouts were...challenging. we rode our tandem the full length of the trash fence in 25+mph winds with 6 foot visibility in one of them after being suckered out by a nice morning. Those without RVs really struggled. Our swamp cooler was a lifesaver.

Found the Dusty Mule Saloon on Tuesday night but alas, no one had change for a nickel.

Conditions were indeed challenging. Definitely the hottest, dustiest, and shittiest surface of all my seven burns. XC roller skis never even left my car as it was just too bumpy.
    Special shout outs...
Golden Guy Alley - holy shit moment when you realize that little entrance a couple of blocks over is actually an entire wood alley with like 20 small bars in it.

Chase the Vegas stripper who became a regular at our bar and showed us all how it's supposed to be done on our pole.

The PnP camp across the street. Kamp Kiss, you tried hard and it was really great having a $400k sound system cranking shitty house around 20 yards from my tent until 4 in the morning. It really helped me get some sleep. And all those super friendly Swedish model sparkle ponies were a great addition to the neighborhood. Oh yeah, about your sign...
We changed KAMP KISS letters to KANK PISS one night then later when you just changed it back to just KISS, we got ahold of the A and just changed it to ASS.

Plug and Play camps bring nothing positive and should be hounded out of existence.

The general background music seemed even more monotonous this year, but at least there was more of it than ever. Rootpile was great as always. I saw Carl Cox for a bit, but even he seemed to be playing to the crowd rather than bringing something interesting.

I'm there for the art and for the interactions with interesting people from all over the world, and I tolerate the bad music, but I reserve the right to complain about it. Electronic music is awesome and highly varied--there's no reason 80% of BM's abundant wattage should be devoted to deep house.

Luckily our neighborhood was fairly quiet this year, so my lack of sleep is just from staying out late looking at cool stuff and not being able to sleep in.

I'll leave this up for a week. All good friends, enjoy:

I definitely don't chase sets, or big blinky cars, but these were the best I experienced.

Enjoy. I'll leave them up for about a week. Perfect timing for the change of the time, seasons, light, attitudes, and lives. I wish any of you could have experienced them with me. The next time, the next train. I hope.

I threw in an old favorite that played while I was getting dusty and she was behind a screen. That Mira set is sneaky. All the rest are from this summer at TTITD, and I know these artists personally, all of them. They are really good people. You should meet them too, and hear their music. That is why I wanted to share it.

Relish, and be good to others. And mustard, and hotdogs too.

BTW, a hot air balloon crashed in the alps tonight. Google that. For that reason, I will even add one of my most favorite sets from Ben playing in Turkey from a hot air balloon. The video on youtube is also worth the watch with him playing. RIP to the dead.

The collection that I've shared is what I believe to be the best that EDM has to offer at this moment, and I look forward to seeing its expanding horizon in ways that aren't as popular as just boots and cats and dabs of special K.

The sheer volume of time on this should get you across any country BTW, if you are driving. Or at least a state in any country if you are walking or crawling.

    Cheers,
    Christian

Shout out to DMS on Tuesday for not only a great time with tons of change for a nickle, but a super special for Alex who let me take my shoes down and bed down. Thank you so much. We had a m contest and just fell asleep holding. It was perfect in every way possible.

Thanks also to Thommy and Lauren for tracking me down, and the nickel, on the other side during a full on dust hell (which was very common this year).

Sorry you caught me peeing in my grey water jug at the moment, but if the shoe fits.

Good times. 14 days on playa, 3 weeks on the road. Much shit went down. Good times, even when they weren't.

Burning man is just an excuse to really embrace your skills and personality. Nothing more, or less.

And fuck TeleMike, he's scared of his inner agro(nacient ego). Put him in the thunderdome with a small child and he would just cry himself to submission.

    Burning Man 2021

Hey Lego sorry I was not able to link up. I did pop by your camp on Thursday but likely you were out enjoying the dust. Your camp mates were very cool and welcoming. I thought I saw you ski past our dome but, it was someone on a regular set up no rollers. Due to being next to the heavy ops folks our street was like a 3” pow day all week.

How did you like the PEERS volunteering session? I thought it was a great way to check out different neighborhoods and camps I may not have checked out. In some cases makes me realize how good we’ve had it neighbor wise all these years. And how we can improve as a camp.

Good to meet up with MTM as always and happy he had good bonding moments with our camp.

The post Monolink sunset set dust storm on Friday was interesting. We got caught pretty far into deep playa hunkered down by some LED art and just hung out. One of the burner busses that had taken some workers out rolled by. They stopped, opened the doors providing some light and cranked music. This started a good size dance party as people flocked to it like a bug zapper.

    Was a good week

There was an astroturf hill built years ago. This is just a redux. Even by BM "safety third" standards the astroturf one was a mess.

    Oops, I did it again.

Got another media pass and WAP, doing the PEERS as well.

Playa looks solid from the reports of the jews out there, so, hopefully better conditions than last, but who cares?

Same old mini, same sweet place. It seems like that's how 3 of us can meet year after years. Wish more would join.

Either way, fuck it dood, it's bowling.

She was so late, I took off that Tuesday after the burn, that is way late FYI, which is when I leave, but she was dragging major ass, ...but we connected and camped out in a great place in Green River (I just hung in the Colorado River and chilled and soaked for 6 hours) that I know and I set up a great blanket spread, cooked dinner, she brought the whisky, and she bought me pizza the next day when I said let's go to Hot Tomato in Fruita to take a piss and fuel up.

I dropped a couple hundo stickers in both ski camps. No one really was an actual person that skied, but anyway, not complaining about doing a nekid shot ski in the desert. Just wish they were actually decent people instead of bs. They tried some bs gathering at Vail and A-Basin and .... they are just weak ass motherfuckers.

I felt it then, and it's just a grab. Not my style, and I'll never be back to their camps and that chick turned out to be a completely whiny ass bitch who was like I so sososoososos want to be in the mountains, and I just have this house and this garden in Denver and I never get to ski and I work so much, blah blah blah. I just can't do it. BLOCKED.

In dust we trust, but ultimately, in pow we bow.

What got me was her perfect tits, and the I tele loveland sticker on her prius.

    In the desert.

She had never actually telemark skied.

Don't ever trust a ski crew in the desert. The ones who rip I know. The Tahoe crew is real. They are willing to do a ski off at every chance. But not the makeup skinny chicks.

These mutherfucker rip, we are the silent ones who don't fit in and will either kick or save your ass:

That is the only reason why I bring a tripod to the burn. It is worth carrying it for those moments. It takes a few to herd the cats, but that image, I would trust anyone with my life. The burn is about gifting your soul, and exposing the same.

Nah, no taking BM too seriously. It's just a big party in the desert with great art all around.

Originally wasn’t going this year but ended up getting tickets. Got WAP passes and will head in on Thursday 24th to start setting up camp and leaving Wednesday 30th We had other commitments lined up for the LD weekend already planned before we got our tix. Dusty Mule Saloon and Playground C&4:15. Believe our camp will have a party again on Tuesday night. Will confirm that and try not to blow my back out this year so I can actually hang out with people that night.
