You can get sum good days at Sunshine. Down the road (35 minutes) there is a little place called Lake Louise you could check out as well.Originally Posted by Chaka

It's not so much the model year, it's the high mileage or meterage to keep the youth of Canada happy
You guys need to stop trying to keep SSV all to yourselves, why would anyone want to ski at Lake Louise? It's all groomers and gets no snow.
HHMMMMM which angle to go at here. Ok I give, it's true I was kidding about sumshine, you'll love it there. I go there all the time and will likely run into in a heartbeat.... kind of like all the times I've met Playharder.Originally Posted by PlayHarder

You know, we're really going to have to try and make a few turns together this season. I can't figure how we've missed each other so many times, even when skiing the same runs on a weekday.kind of like all the times I've met Playharder.
Personally I think it's because you don't really exist. You're just an alias for Mtnlion or Eldo or someone. I'll believe that until the runs actually occur.Originally Posted by PlayHarder

thanks, guys. I will be sure to tell everyone SSV sucked after my visit![]()
ski the one with the most new snow. (the one with the marketing team the lies the most)
hmm,,interesting opinions. Obviously since I am from the east and have never been out west, I have no idea what to think of everyones opinion. The biggest and best hill I have ever been to is Sugarbush in Vermont, 3100ft vertical, 100+ runs, but annual snow accumulation does not compare to western snowfall. I'd be happier than a pig in shit skiing at Sugarbush all winter, so I am assuming i'd be happy as hell to ski at Sunshine and would be very impressed with it all. But on the contrary, if I had the opportunity to ski at various resorts throughout the western regions then I am sure my opinion on SSV would change due to comparison of better hills. But it sounds like Lake Louise has the upper hand with everyone on here.
I guess i'll just have to wait until my trip out there this winter to see what it's all like.
Time to resurrect this thread: I rented a place at the Rundle Ridge Chalets last season (about $620/month, if anyone is still looking for the price). This season, though, I would like to stay in Banff within walking distance of the bars/restaurants/etc. Optimist that I am, I actually hope that I might find a basement suite (something with a kitchen) to rent for the season (Dec-Apr). If anybody has any inside scoop on such a place, and knows of someone who wants a quiet, clean, and almost never there tenant, drop me a line. (I know this is a huge long shot, but it's worth a try.)
As far as the "need to reside" law goes, is the intent met by having someone who works in Banff live in the house? In other words, is the law being broken if someone who lives and works in Banff rents a room to an outsider like me?
