VT has a pasty team in Ohio to play, though the beat Pitt last week.

Looking forward to these must watch games:
    FSU @ BC = BC by 3
    Miami @ Clemson = Miami by 7
    Tenn @ UF = UF by 3

They really could have changed the momentum of that game to Air Force's favor. I figure it all evens out in the end...

You have to admit, though - TCU had one hell of a defense in the 2nd half, 4th Qtr especially... I think it will be different when that same defense comes up to our fields at altitude and cold, though..... (they play up here on Oct. 8th - too bad it will probably be at 1pm and not in the evening...)

This is going to be an interresting year for the MWC, for sure. I believe there are 4 or 5 teams that have a real chance at the title. And we can't forget about CSU... They have had their asses handed to them so far (well, not really by CU, but still) but they can also put up 50 points on any given Saturday against any of the MWC teams.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 or even 4 teams in bowl games this year...
Actually now that I looked at the rulebook, I may have to eat my words...

The rule states that you can only call offensive pass interference if the pass crosses the neutral zone. From the best of my memory - which may not be that good since I was on a few vodka redbulls, the pass looked like it was caught behind the line of scrimage.

There are some good teams in the MWC, and I love watching those teams play, but in order to get 3 or 4 teams bowl games there are going to have fill in some spots from other conferences that may not fill their bowl allotment - like the Big East. Problem is, who would those bowls rather match up, a #8 team from the ACC or SEC, or a #4 from the MW. It will probably depend on where the bowl is and what the matchup would be.

The MWC has 3 tie ins - Emerald, Poinsettia and Las Vegas. The only bowl I could see them making 4 teams is if the Big East can't fill it's last spot and the Insight Bowl in Phoenix needs another team. That could be a matchup that would entice them to take a MWC team, as it would be against a PAC10 team. In an interesting twist, if UDub is on the bubble for a bowl game this year, you might become a ND fan. If ND does not make it to the BCS this year, they will go to the Gator bowl, making it easy for the Big East to fill the last spot. The other two shots are the Liberty Bowl in Fort Worth against the Big 12 #4 and the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, TN which I beleive only has 1 bowl tie in this year.

I'm not so sure TCU had that tough of a defense though. THe Utah Quarterback, Brian Johnson, looked lost at times and missed several reads in the 4th quarter. They did do a good jpb of shutting down Ganther though.

The MWC is by far the best non-AQ conference from top to bottom. Maybe if Boise St. had not started 0-2 against BCS teams teh WAC would be up there.

Holy shit. While the outcome was disappointing, the ND v. MSU game was insane. One of the best games I've seen in a while.

    Yeah, MSU ND was bananas.

The end result did hurt though.

    I cried.

Utah @ TCU Frogs win 37-35 with last minute field goal
Wyoming @ Air Force Cowboys win 31-24
San Diego State @ Ohio State Buckeyes win 56-14
New Mexico State @ New Mexico Lobos win 38-17
UNLV @ Nevada Wolfpack wins 21-17

CSU & BYU off this week
Well, I still gotta work on my scoring predictions, but I did call the MWC last week on the money.

How about my Cowboys pulling it out on the road!?!?!?

Heres to hoping that MSU doesn't blow a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter.

USC dominated ASU 38-28 for anyone who didn't see. USC was down by 18 in the first half and came back to kill ASU, catching 5 interceptions and completely demoralizing ASU. Good game!

Ok, I'm gonna go chew out my boss. The friggen tv in my office doesn't get ESPN, so I can't watch the Notre Dame game.

Still, it was really nice to be able to work today and catch both the Yanks/Sox game and SC/ASU game in their entirety.

Dominated?? USC wouldn't last against Texas or Vtech. They'll be lucky to make it past ND.

USC is going to fall and soon. I'd love to see ND beat 'em.

Scratch that... i hope they do go undefeated again, then get killed at the Rose Bowl by VT or Texas. If they keep playing like they are, it won't be too tough.

It would appear that you haven't seen USC play this season.

VT and SC would be a great match up for the NC, assuming that both teams win out.

Texas will continue to play like suckers in big games under mAck Brown.

All teams with coaches associated with last year's Utah team lost big this weekend. Florida, Utah and UNLV. Wierd.

Next week Mountain West title is potentially on the line; TCU @ WYOMING.....

    I hope it snows.

Just revisited this thread, losses to FL & GA suck. Next up is Bama. Typical TN, hyped to be world beaters and then turn out to just be beaters. They better get their shit together in a hurry or they will be looking at 5-6 losses this season, people are not happy here in Big Orange Country.

PS: on TN vs. FL; "Tennessee leads the all-time series vs. Florida 19-16, and has won two of the last three." (before this season, now 19-17 & 2 of last 4)
