    Marker Griffon heel/fwd pressure issue

I went from a 305 bsl to a 303 bsl. When I adjust the FP to the correct screw position one heel will come off after being skied once and released.

I then backed them up 2 clicks, and had no issues. I'm only 155lbs x 5'5" 54yr and don't do moguls anymore, but ski fast and off piste sometimes.

If I re-drill the I'll have conflict from a prior barron mount and end up going +1 or +2.

I love the skis, and don't want to change my center.

I guess I'm reaching out to some techs for some ideas?

At my age I don't need any more broken bones or torn ligament s; Is this position kind of safe, or am I crazy?

    I can't find any 2015-2018 Mantras anywhere.

Find an old style (non-GripWalk) demo plate and get more adjustment range in the heel? Drops into the existing holes...no remount. Or if it isn’t an issue of running out of adjustment, then try a different Griffon heel. That’s what I would try.

From looking at the photo, it seems to me that your forward pressure is too low. In my mind the screw should be flushed.

^ Exactly, but he's out of adjustment range. The heel needs to be re-mounted further forward, but there's a hole conflict.

If I remember right the heal plate on those bindings has a far amount of range. Can’t you just mount the heal plate back around 2cm? Then the heal would be in the middle of the adjustment range.

You could helicoil the previous, conflicting holes if you end up needing to remount

This is the right answer. The demo heel plate adds about a cm on each side of the normal travel, so it works great.

FYI you may struggle to find the plate alone and may have to buy an old binding set. But there’s allot out there.

    I love it!

The gracious Mr ZombibulaX is hooking me up.

When you re-use holes, do you go oversize fasteners? Or, can I just use the old screws with some goo... What is the most trusted goo; I'll have to check my goo cabinet?

Coil it to be safe, epoxy them if you’re a little more adventurous

If the holes look good with no moisture, I’d use marine or another good 24 hour flexible epoxy and use the normal screws.

With the demo plate you probably have an option to plug the existing holes and remount the new plate in fresh holes too.

That's a little extreme for this situation--he should just be able to chase the existing threads with screws and a 2-part 24-hr epoxy. You can get 2 or 3 re-threads and still have sufficient bite to torque the screws.

Yeah, I think Hardman machine epoxy is just fine. Just wanted to throw out the coil option as well.

Yes, just inspect the old holes and if there are no spinners it should be OK to re-use without adding an insert.

    Hi everyone!

I couldn’t find a more relevant thread so I choose to post it here. The transparent plastic that covers the din gauge at the heel has disappeared without any sign of impact or damage at the surrounding area. Has it happened to anyone else? Is it dangerous to keep skiing like this (for example snow getting there an blocking the spring)? And is there any way to fix it? (Couldn’t find replacement parts).

    thanks!
