Good video on youtube from a couple weeks back on mount point .. was googling twenty twenty six revolt one two one … team line has always been good for many on these. Forty mm equals four centimeters … so glty on those bad boyz. Personally would error on further forward with this rear and front rocker. Acquired another pair myself. Reckoner One Two Four may go on the market. Next week they’ll get more time.

Ahhh good to know. I’ve been running Jeffries back of rec with good success. Hoping these would be similar.

Thoughts on the Reckoner 124 vs Revolt 121?

Was considering looking for some end of season Reckoners.

Just a solid day on mine … super fun and intuitive as in feel or initiation of a turn. Had like nine inches on top of 4-5 inches previous with a hard rain drought layer under that. Much more stable on edge with rip ability vs the previous one two two Reckoner. Not as good in pow as a Revolt. Definitely awesome in some respects in it’s ability to do things a ski this wide you might think could not do like hold and carve on hard pack. Plus it really was a fun surprise in junk. I was a bit hesitant on it but the ski said let’s go. In the grand scheme of things from just a solid morning on them they are maybe an underrated pow ski. Volkl has nailed the rocker the flex and the taper with enough substance or weight to dampen shitty run outs and cut up pow. They won’t rip a carve like the new Reck on hard pack cuz dimensions are way diff but do just fine and for a resort pow ski in shorter lengths or longer for BC AK they just have the pow ‘wow’ factor that smear n’ carve on top of pow that is hard to duplicate.

    Appreciate the write up.

When you say you like the Revolt better in powder, how so (float, maneuverability, etc.)?

Pow would really be the only concern here. Don't care about carving ability as long as it gets me back to the lift without being sketchy. Being able to handle cut up snow is somewhat important, but I also have Blade Optic 114s which would get used when the snow isn't nice and fuffy (so most of the time in Tahoe.).

Need more time on the Reck one two four. First thing that comes to mind is how quickly the Revolt gets up on top of the pow especially in steeper terrain … how easy it is to smear and change directions or re direct your line. They’re easy but have substance.

Why? Both skis feel pretty damp. The HLs are such great skis and I used them a ton on a cat trip in early January. They are so good in wide open terrain skiing untouched pow. But for tight trees and skiing varied terrain inbounds at Whistler (where the deep snow can get chopped up pretty quickly), I think I like the more forward mount point on the Revolt. Plus the best part about skiing the Revolt is how you can shed speed quickly, as they require little effort to get sideways for a cambered ski. I can hold a super long slarve and they do not hook up, which is super helpful in tight, steep, or sketchy terrain. And with its deep rocker profile (they have a so much tip and tail splay) the Revolt motors up and over everything in its way. Yet even with such deep rocker lines it is still very stable.

Basically the Revolt a heavy pow ski that’s easy, intuitive, and maneuverable.

I also have the HL R120STs and was wondering about the turn radius. I had them for a few great days at Alta but in tight trees they weren’t as turny as I was looking for - it sounds like the Revolt fills that void well. But it also meant the 120STs slayed the open terrain with abandon, which was so much fun. I’m not sure I need two pow skis but I’m glad I’m not off base when I could imagine how that would be nice.

    Volkl Revolt 104/121

Well the 180 cm Revolt 104 rips just like I thought it would. Got in one icy, groomer day at WB on these. The 180 cm straight pull 179 cm. I mounted 86 cm from tail (-3.5 cm) which feels perfect (note my 184cm Revolt 121 are also at - 3.5cm).

Initial thoughts...the Revolt 104 ski like a wider Season Aero, or like a slightly less maneuverable FR 110. Compared to the FR 110, they feel super solid and planted when you engage the entire edge yet are still very surfy and maneuverable due to the super deep rocker lines. Easy to throw sideways at lunatic high speeds. I also found them pretty stable and damp enough that you can ski em pretty hard. The top sheet this year seems more durable than previous years and goes great with raw Pivots.

Will post additional thoughts after I ski them more.

Any consensus on where to mount the one two one? I’m a directional skier who likes progressive mounts, but the team recommended line seems too far forward. Was thinking between -two to -three behind line.

Just mounted mine 2.5 back. Which from my measurements put me at -6 on the 121

I've had my 191 121 at -3 from the recommended and liked it there. Still playful and I could maintain a forward stance.

    Volkl Revolt 104/121

Just saying the Revolt 104 is such an awesome ski. You can ski it pretty damn hard. It is what I wanted the HL AM 100 to be (more slarvy).

Just picked up the Volkl Revolt 114. I got last years yellow version for $360 CDN from the Last Hunt, which are being mounted with purple Strive 16s.

So now I have the full R set, 104 114 and 121. The 114 Revolt sure are a different ski (have not skied it yet).

I mounted my one twenty ones at minus two and didn’t like them at all. And I generally like progressive mounts. Remounted at minus three point two five and they’re better but still not loving them. I think I need to massively detune them.

Skied my 121, mounted minus 2, at Targhee the other day. Four to six inches of new and pretty soft underneath in places. Obviously overkill for the situation but the skis were fine. I was alternating between these and a Solly QST 106 which I know well and were actually more fun in the variable. The 121 was ok on the long flat cat tracks back to the lift which tell me the bases are reasonably flat and I do not need to detune anyway.

I am mounted at -3.5 cm on the 184 R121 and had them tuned at Profile in Whistler (1.5* base and 2* side edge with a detune in the taper section). They absolutely rip everything inbounds at Whistler on a pow day. You must ski a centered stance. Skied them fast in trees and bumps with fresh at Revy. So fun. These are now my go ski for inbounds pow at Whistler when I know it is gonna get tracked up fast. I will grab them ahead of my HL R120 (pure pow ski) and the HL HB122 (shit conditions ski).
