^^Nice deal!
Here’s some inspiration…
Went minus two from recommended with Warden [emoji637][emoji639] demos so I can move forward or back about two cms. Forecast looks promising for a near term test.

I also hopped in on the ski essential deal. As I’ve been very curious about this ski for a while. Keep us posted Bandit as to where you think they feel best. I imagine I’ll mount back of recommended, but not sure how far.
I've got my 121s mounted -3.5 from recommended and they feel excellent there.
Not sure if this belongs here, but I got myself a cheap pair of last year's Revolt 96 last month as an early season hardpack groomer ski.
While billed as a park/freeride ski, the reviews I read all said it slanted more towards freeride and I wanted something a bit narrower than my Ripstick 106s.
My big dilemma was where to mount as the rec line is pretty much right at true center and I'm never gonna ski backwards, spin or go in the park. I settled on about 5cm back and pretty happy with it. I've put about 7-8 days on 'em so far although they're really heavy to hoist on my shoulder, they don't really ski heavy. Since they're new skis, the edge grip has been just fine, even though there's no metal in 'em.
I just couldn't pass up $229 delivered from https://www.aspenskiandboard.com/col...kis-adult-2024
Looks like they're sold out of the 181 now, but if you're a short guy, the 173s are still available.
"The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size."
Just another point of observation on the Revolt 104s... I have had the 180cm Fox version (from the first year they came out), mounted at recommended -1.75 from center and it's fun for a noodly-surfy-park ski. The back half feels softer than the front half, where if you ski it centered/slightly forward it offers reasonable support, but if you just straight up surf it from the back seat it's a unique experience. I'd love to try the 188 at like -3 or -4cm from center just to get more ski out in front and see if it feels more versatile in steeper "real" terrain, cause right now I just leave it at home if I'm feeling at all serious about the day.
I put 115 mm Pivots on my 184 Revolt 121's.
From my post in the Volkl thread....got a Mt Baker day on my 184 Revolt 121’s. Some good pow up top, and kinda sticky/icy/manky Baker snot at the bottom. Dang these are good skis in tough snow that is not groomed. Really good addition to the quiver for when it’s deep and chunky and you want to mob through chunder. Picked these up for ~$260US delivered with tax on Black Friday! Glad I did.
Mine straight pull at 182cm and I'm mounted 87.5cm from tail, so -3.5cm and they felt great there. No tip dive in pow but you gotta stay centered, and keep some pressure on the tails.
Got 12 hours notice of a cancellation so am lucky enough to be taking these cat skiing near Revy for 4 days next week will compare to Renegades and HL R120's in pow.

Measured between the Solly Strive brake bars earlier today on a diff pair of skis. One twenty one plus millimeters bar to bar so you are good to go without even a mild stretch with the one fifteens imo.
Have had Pivots with the same width on the one two one Revolts. They’re fine and stretch a bit. Have had one thirty millimeter brakes on a pair and it just seemed a bit much but thats just me.

Another beautiful Arild Mount. It's hard to read what you wrote but I got that you'll compare against Renegade, ROne-TwentyST (?) in deep pow. Sounds like a very solid comparison. Not that you could go wrong in any direction. But science is fun, eh? We appreciate your hard work.
BTW, what does that sticker mean that I see on a lot of your skis. Go East. 542? Is that a Baker thing? (That's as far as my Googles got me.) Is 542 a highway east from Baker into the inland? It doesn't show up on Google's Powder Highway.
PS, I'm really intrigued by the small towns that you guys live in in that world.
Fixed the post above to get rid of the gremlins.
I do it for science and for guys like you gaijin! This is my second Arild mount and is the offsetting mount to the AM 100's. You're right that the "Go East" sticker is a Mt Baker sticker....cause you take Highway 542 east through Glacier, WA to get to Baker....when I was much younger I used to white out the bottom of the E in East to make it into and F so it said Go Fast.
Heading to Great Northern Snow Cat Skiing just south of Revy. Hitting Big White on the way up and Revy on the way back. Leaving in an hour.
Heritage Lab R120, 4FRNT Renegade and Volkl Revolt 121 shootout is happening....

Just saw this comment. How'd the test turn out? I let go a pair of Renegades (newer/lighter version) a couple years ago and seriously regret it ever since. The Revolt 121 has been on my short list since then and I'm especially eager to hear how the 2 stack up against each other. I have a pair of Revolt 121s in my Skiessentials cart right now, so...my fate is in your hands.
Will respond….been too busy skiing!
Short response is “sell Rens, buy Revolt One Twenty Ones.”

Wild coincidence. I sold my one twenty ones and bought rens and it may be too soon to definitively say that I regret it, but it isn’t looking good. I miss the revolts.

I’ve been skiing my revolt one twenny onez a bunch this last couple weeks during our big storm cycle. Mounted at -4 from center/-0.5 from rec. Really really fun ski and very glad I grabbed a pair.
They won’t replace my Rens but I’ll keep both I’d say. Revolts maybe more fun as a resort pow ski with that bit of camber and heavier weight, but lack that frictionless, almost R/R feel that the Rens have.

Don't see as much info on the 104. I've only skied it as my tele ski which I'm mediocre at. But it's been a great ski where you want a manipulative tail. Fairly soft with a pintail profile. Great for pivoting the ski. Particularly good for the inside ski on a tele turn. The multiple turn radii does take some getting used to, but once you figure it out (whether it ACTUALLY gives multiple turn radii or not) it's pretty intuitive.
I will likely mount it up for alpine as well. It gives me some nostalgia to the reverse camber Gotama - another ski I really liked. Definitely appeals to a skier that relies on the sidecut rather than camber as it's noticeably close to flat.
I think the 104 has flown under the radar for the skier that has previously appreciated flat camber or skis close to it. i.e. Gotama, sickle, stormrider TT, Nordica Zero.

Well shit, ski essentials still has the 121's. Incoming for about $305
Been enjoying the 184 cm Revolt 121 as my inbounds pow ski this season.
Just picked up this years 180 cm Revolt 104 for what I sold my HL AM 100 for, and mounted them with Pivots at -3.5cm.
The 104 has very long, flat/subtle early rise. Looks almost Sickle like. Should get on them Friday and will report back.

Sold my 2023 184 cm Renegades and have been skiing the 184 cm Volkl Revolt 121 (-3.5cm) a fair bit more for inbounds pow days than the 180 cm Heritage Lab R120 swallowtails (-6.7cm).
Why? Both the Revolt and HL R120 skis feel pretty damp. The HLs are great skis and I used them a ton on a cat trip in early January. They are very good arcing pow turns in wide open terrain skiing untouched snow. But for tight, nasty trees and skiing in varied snow/terrain on an inbounds at Whistler (where the deep snow can get chopped up pretty quickly), I think I like the more forward mount point on the Revolt 121. Plus the best part about skiing the Revolt is how you can shed speed quickly, as they require little effort to get sideways for a cambered ski. I can hold a super long slarve and they do not hook up, which is super helpful in tight, steep, or sketchy terrain. And with its deep rocker profile (they have a so much tip and tail splay) the Revolt motors up and over everything in its way. Yet even with such deep rocker lines it is still very stable.
Basically the Revolt a heavy pow ski that’s easy, intuitive, and maneuverable.

Just drilled my R121 184's. Went 2 behind the line/-5.5.
Will chase a storm to Targhee or Snowbasin next week or so.
Also jumped on the cheap revolt train. 191s should arrive Friday. Also thinking -2
