Move upside and let the man go through...
Dude is a straight baller, plain n simple. OP have you considered trading in your jeans and rental k2's for some higher quality fine gear from proper luxury maques such as Bogner and Stockli? Everyone will know you're fast, if you look the part. That's all anyone cares about anyway, you know.I ski about 20 times per year with my family in Vermont
Who are the auditors? I want answers.
After SFB set up that fund for the moderators all on his own, if I find out that those funds are being used to buy luxury goods by the Lonely Planet management, it will make Dexter's lawsuit against that trip insurance company look like small claims court.

Man, we are a litigious bunch, aren't we?
I still call it The Jake.
Jesus guys, quit trolling this guy. Nobody is asking the important questions.
What color are your skis and jacket? If you truly want to go faster, you need red skis and a red jacket. Red is the fastest color. Get red stuff and go faster.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.
He probably just woke up.

op, are you faster than said bear?
swing your fucking sword.
That bear isn't wearing red.
He'll never catch up to the prey.

Sometimes you eat the bahr, and sometimes the bahr he eats you.
That bear wouldn't make it one day in the ECRC.
I still call it The Jake.
When you know what you're doing it doesn't feel fast.
But do make sure you're looking ahead, not down. Part of the perception of speed is vision--the closer what you're looking at is the faster it feels.
Wouldn't hurt to demo some big boy skis. Beyond that, let your body tell you how fast to ski, not your friends.
On closer inspection that bear is flailing its arms.

OP: Yes, a bit longer and stiffer would help. Tips/tails edges detuned so the skis aren't too touchy? Boots up to date and fit well? Have Superfeet or something substantial under your arch so you have good edge control? Maybe getting more confidence slowing and stopping while at speed would help. You might find places where it's wide open and with a clean runout (and not crowded) to get comfortable getting some speed going without a lot of major consequences to worry about.
Or maybe just enjoy what you enjoy, savor the ski run, and let the kids wait a minute or so at the bottom of the hill.
