The app might help narrow down the choices of boot, but has some key weaknesses (like not showing the ankle above the maleoli). Also, I can't punch for her bunions without her and her boots coming to Seattle.

    New Foot Scanner App

A Seattle visit isn’t necessarily out of the question. Is the shop stocked up for the season now?
Thinking she’s in start over mode with boots at this point…

Not everything is in store yet; if she wants a boot in the 110-115 flex range, for instance, we have the 90-95 flex versions of S/Pro Alpha and Hawx Ultra in but not always the stiffer models, and no Lange Shadow LV's. This isn't uncommon even later in the year, though, we just don't have enough room to stock every model we carry but try to have something to try on that fits like they boot you want, then order it from the warehouse. You could start by trying on some boots in the PDX location, though.

Time for some new alpine boots. I’ve been skiing in 26.5 my entire adult life, but it looks like I should be in a 25.5? Has my entire existence been a lie?
FYI, I had this problem when using the Verifyt app, but I found that: when I did the scan it only showed me the foot length and width immediately. However if I gave them an email address and saved the scan in my profile, when I retrieved the scan I could see the 3d model and the instep and heel measurements.

This is correct, once you set up an account (give them your name and email address and save it), you should be able to click on "Scan Management" then "View Foot Scans" and the most recent valid scan should show up. Click "View Model" and you'll see all the images and numbers. If you want to share the data with me, go back to the home page and click "Verifyt Connect" to scan the QR code shown previously in this thread.

Would love to get some insights of some boots that might make sense for me. Currently have Maestrales for touring in a 25.5. But they feel a bit soft for driving a bigger ski (which I'm hoping to add to the quiver), I also have a set of Cochise in 25.5 for the resort. The're a little stiff for me, and maybe a touch tight on my right side for touring. I can feel it a bit in the length and the instep, but I haven't done any mods to the liner or shells yet...

    Thanks!

Maestrale or Maestrale RS? If the former, try the RS, it's quite a bit stiffer. I would guess the instep is tight on that boot, though. Your main issue is an instep that's quite high and forward; main fix for the Cochise would be to grind the bootboard and/or footbed. You don't say what flex Cochise you have, you realize they come in 130, 120, and 110 flex, right?

Other than a 3-piece shell that's open over the instep (Dalbello, K2, Roxa) your best bet for instep is a good heat moldable boot that can be made taller with foam over the instep during the molding process. Atomic Hawx Prime XTD or Salomon Shift Pro are good examples.

Maestrale. The instep is fine for me on that. I've got a set of handmade low-profile carbon insoles in them.

The Cochise is a 2024 and is the 130. Probably a bit too stiff for me (6', 160lbs)
