Question Hit me with some Ski boot suggestions....

I know it's all about the fit, but im thinking some of the maggot knowledge could give me some boots to try on.

Me - 6'4, 175 or so, narrow foot, narrow calves
I live to huck, and would love a boot that would cut down on shinbang caused by backseat landings. 100flex or under i would say. Was thinking a boot with not much forward lean would be best for me and the shinbangin...

help me out if you have any suggestions....

mtnlion is right, but for a short list, I would look at the Lange' Freerides (the nicer models have nicer liners and the rivets can be removed to make them softer), Salomon ProModels, and Dalbello Kryptons to start.

The new Fischer MX9's are right up your alley... Pretty upright stance, medium flex, lower calf to engage the ankles more, shock-absorbing footbed... Like a Salomon Promodel, but better...

I have Solomon Pro Model SC Space Frame 95 Flex / I love em. A detuned Racing Plug boot. Fit nice right out of the box. I have about 60 Days on mine. Nice boot, if they fit.

With a narrow foot, you should lean towards Rossi boots. They can pinch on the Achilles Tendon if your heel area is not too narrow though. Try the Elite Pro 1 or 2. Fischer and Atmoic also make some narrow boots, but I am not too familiar with their product lines.

With a narrow calf there may not be much you can do about chin bang. Get some booster straps.

    See a good bootfitter!

They should be able to get flexon's with thermoflex liners for $370 shipped. It sounds like it would be perfect for you, just email Barry and let him know what you want.

    Good God you're slutty.

Me: What should I watch tonight on TV?

BB: Fischer made a 30 second clip you should loop over and over all night long.

Me: I was thinking about taking a vacation. Where should I go?

BB: Fischer has a factory tour that is just peachy.

Me: I'm hungry, anybody got any good suggestions?

BB: Fischer has piles of iron and Ptex filings that go great in milk.

Larry pimped my Garmonts and he even made my girlfriend's f'ed up feet happy in her ski boots. I say if he can do that, he can do anything.

z - youre a CO front range inhabitant no?

    you need to see larry

He is one of the best bootfitters in the country and he started his own custom fiitting shop in boulder. He will hook you up. His shop is in the middle of spruce sandwiched between folsom and 28th, right next to the sports garage.

He will tell you more than you ever cared to know about your feet and lower leg shapes and why you need certain manufacturers products.

My house? I've got a broken in pair you could try on, but they still might feel wierd since they're broken in to my feet. I don't think you'll go wrong with them though.

Do they even make boots that big or do you just get some plastic milk crates?

I've never heard of Larry but I think I'm going to get a hold of him to fit my Flexon's.

If you plan on doing any kind of bootpackin or skinnin for the goods go AT takes a while to get used to but less weight and vibram soles. Scarpa denali tt or Garmont adreniline.

I have the Salomon Pro Model and it works great for me. I have a very narrow foot and narrow calves. These boots are almost perfect for me. However, I also have surefoot insoles, so those make them even better. I would highly reccomend the Surefoot insoles for everyone out there. http://www.surefoot.com/shop/

The Pro Model boots have nothing to do with plug boots. Have you ever even seen a plug boot? If you had, you'd know how silly your statement is.

Thanks md9, I do what I can. That means a lot coming from a former Spyder House Team member, . No really, the new Fischer boots are sick though. Replacable heel and toe lugs which makes me happy because I can just replace them when they get worn down, unlike my crappy Pro Model boots that are just one piece. You could probably screw on Vibram attatchments also... Flex index of 100...

Plug" Boots What does that term mean?
Ski boots are made by injecting plastic into a mold. The molds are made of two pieces. The outer portion of the mold creates the part of the boot that we see from the outside. The inner part of the mold represents the foot or inner part of the boot. This inner part is referred to as the plug. With race-room boots, the plug is smaller than consumer level boots. This makes the interior space smaller, the shell material thicker, and the boot more responsive. As the inside of the boot is smaller, the liner of the boot has to be thinner. This thin liner allows the skiers foot to be very close to the boot shell. The thicker shell material allows the boot fitter to carve and sculpt the boot from the inside out to fit the individuals foot. These boots are colder than consumer boots because they fit so precisely, and because the liners are so thin.

This was my understanding. If I was incorrect in the statement the Pro Model is a Plug boot also that it is basically a detuned Racing boot then thank you for so delicately pointing that out to me. It’s always nice to learn something new; I was obviously misled as to what constitutes a plug boot? (Maybe) You spend allot more time around Skiing and skiing equipment so I would defer to you on such matters.

BTW your Display name (BakerBOY) is very telling.
