    BPM

So I am a total pleb on music, please don't hate.

I was training for the army apft and trying to run in a certain timeframe. So I learned about controlling your pace and having music at a certain bpm to match the required running pace. I got a playlist together and that went pretty well. It was also really fun to run to the perfect beat.

Now I'm skiing with music and maybe I want the same thing? Plus I am somewhat burnt out on my current music so trying to get motivated to make a new list.

    Thoughts?

Well, what bpm do you want to be at? I can recommend based on target.

I need to do some testing, but my initial guess is 150 bpm? Really not sure yet. I know that I can't run at some of the paces out there, like 180. I haven't been running to music since I got my dog so I've lost track of all the numbers, need to do the research again.

I guess I want the beat of my short radius carved turns, like slalom turns. I'm pretty slow turning in the bumps, hahaha.

I think a perfect running beat for me is Aswad Shine, I'll try it out on the hill.

Haha, I just remembered I would use footloose to get across the finish line. I wonder how many bpm that is...

I can report that J. Geils Freezeframe was the perfect speed for the bumps. I remember it was surprising how low the BPM would have to be for skiing. We all think we make more turns/faster turns then we really do.

Hey that is really cool, actually on multiple levels, when you consider that some of how we perceive bump skiing is through freeze frames and then how to achieve them...
