How can I ship something cheaply? I am trying to mail a backpack, so it is lightweight (just a few pounds) but big (24 x 17.5 x 8), and the cheapest rates I can find are still like $30+.

I can maybe make it slightly smaller but not by much.

when replacing a screw thread powder basket, does thread lock help keep it from spinning off? gorilla glue? thread over elec tape?

Maybe hockey tape instead of the electrical tape over the threads before installing the basket? The coarse fabric might provide enough ‘grit’ to keep it from spinning, and is a bit thicker.

You just need to make sure it meets the max height of the car washer.

max height 7'6", my car with box is probably 7' 6 1/2". I lived life on the edge and went for it. Seems to be ok.

My reading of the announcement was that they'd be providing "limited" advertising (commercials), with no mention of paying to opt out. They're doing an excellent job of boiling the frogs subscribed to Prime, and it annoys me that I'm probably just going to put up with it because despite slower shipping on many items and commercials, it's still convenient.

$2.99/mo to upgrade to ad-free. If you could lock in at the rate long-term I'd be pretty tempted, but there's nothing to indicate that so far so I think I'll wait and see how obnoxious the ads are. Prime is still a pretty good deal for what you get.

Doing some cleanup at my parents house. Mom likes re-using old containers to store grains and other stuff, and much of it has no label. She doesn't know what this is, nor do I. Anyone out there know? It's about 1/2" long. In with other containers of pasta.
