Why do little cars have weak, shitty horns and big cars have loud, assertive sounding horns?

Xpost to sprockets, do cyclists hate the sound of their bikes freewheeling? Cuz I often see cyclists on the trail and the louder their clicking sound is when they're approaching slower traffic the more upset the look on their face is. Why not just get a quiet freewheel mechanism of it bothers you that much?
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
    Cletus: Duly noted.

Quite the opposite. I love the sound of my freewheel, and when I ride with friends with louder hubs, I seethe with jealousy.

Maybe the upset look is due to gaper hikers interrupting the flow. Fknduh.

Have you tried playing cards in the spokes?

Running into a black bear on the trail today got me thinking--how come you can chase a bear away by tossing a stone in its general direction but it doesn't work on marmots or jays?

Why do visiting dignitaries always walk up/down boarding stairs and never use the jetway?

Maybe because limos don’t fit in the concourse aisles?

Why are non-surgery doctors offices outside of North America referred to as “Surgery”? I just learned that they use MBBS instead of MD/DO, which stands for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (still not sure why it isn’t BMBS)

Edit to add: this is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a few days

You've got it backwards. They DGAF about security interfering with the passenger flow, it's the other way around. The tarmac is a "secure" area. In addition to giving us photographers 43 different opportunities to get the shot and they stumble down the stairs, it's much easier to control the 50 something folks around the plane on the concrete than the 5K fatties mindlessly ambling through Concourse A.

you can get an MD in the UK, if you do research and defend a thesis, like other doctorates. And BTW, surgeons in the UK call themselves Mister or Miz or Missus, instead of Doctor. Reverse snobbery.

I think using the stairs would make it easier to assassinate someone.

    "Accidental fall"

Russians would prefer that those who have fallen out of favor with the Kremlin to use 8th floor windows to disembark from planes but they're harder to move around.

    Wedding next weekend.

Wife's best friend from childhood. Her second wedding, we were at the first 15 years ago.

They live in the Berkshires and try to give off a pretty chill vibe, but given that it's my wife's oldest friend I know that in fact she is super particular and "needs" everything to be perfect. Wedding is in Vermont, outdoors. Ceremony at 4pm.

Dress Code says "Festive and Comfortable" and the wife has been in a "I know you don't want to come anyways so you can read the website and figure it out" kinda mood.. lol.

Can I get away without a suit, or should it just be one dressed up to be "fun"?

I have a gray one, thinking pink shirt and darker burgundy tie if I have to wear a tie.

Definitely not a shorts and Hawaiian shirt vibe, although I'd love to interpret it that way.

    What say the collective?

Slacks, open collar shirt, jacket to walk in at first.
Not sure where you got “if i have to wear a tie” out of comfortable and festive.

Outdoor (second) wedding? Vermont? If I was wearing a suit or a jacket, it would be without a tie. But I guess that depends on your suit jacket. I wouldn’t wear double breasted without a tie.
Because rich has nothing to do with money.
