How would someone go about instituting a class action lawsuit?
For years, the Colorado online vehicle registration process has had false statements about how much extra they will charge you if paying by credit card (the fact that they charge extra to use a CC is super annoying but that's the subject for another thread). While the extra payment above what they say hasn't been much, they have never corrected it (I even emailed them once about it, years ago, so they have been on notice). If you can recover against the state (a big if that I don't know the answer to) seems like there's a lawsuit waiting to happen; that money has probably added up to a lot over many years with millions of registrations.

"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy
I'd disagree with the first sentence. A lot of times, having someone else step in and go, "WTAF? You do this *every* time?" is a helpful step in creating a more efficient SOP.
Of course, it helps when the person filling in is the supervisor (and can actually ask WTAF?) or is skilled in asking more politely.

I think it's Notre Dame's fault--conflating relgion and football.
Back when Tebowing was a thing I noticed that he only did it when he won I guess it never occured to him that god might want to be praised regardless of the outcome.
Before one of the Pats SB wins Brady's supermodel wife Giselle Bundchen asked people to pray for him. Bob Costas' comment--I think god has already done enough for Tom Brady.
The SCOTUS ruling that a football coach could pray at midfield after a public HS football game with his team gathered around him tells us where we're heading in this country.
Would it be poor form to bump the TRT thread to dickwave about my T results from a physical last week?
I honestly don’t think there’s anything wrong with a coach praying with his team members after the game is something to get worked up about. It was voluntary for players and they didn’t have to participate. I’m not religious and don’t believe in deities.

I think what happens is that coaches (consciously or not) give preferential treatment to players who attend the "voluntary" prayer shit. It even happens in the NFL. Frank Reich picked Carson Wentz to be his QB because they had the same favorite Bible verse.
I'd also argue that having a huge huddle in the middle of the field to pray in order to get disciplined by the school so you can sue them is the opposite of a private religious practice.
Was that the coach’s intent? He wasn’t even the head coach iirc.
As far as favoritism, it’s rampant in HS sports for all kinds of reasons

In a perfect world people in authority could make a conspicuous show of prayer, encouraging their subordinates to join in, and no one would feel pressured to join in or be judged harshly for not joining. Given the rising incidence of anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim harrassment and violence this is obviously not a perfect world. The point of the coach's exercise--besides generating a case for the Court like Supermoon says--is to apply social pressure. It is not hard to imagine some people being afraid not to participate. For us Jews this is a very very sensitive subject. Clearly it's a subject you're oblivious to. If you are interested in understanding, start by looking up the story behind the Jewish prayer "Kol Nidre".

What if Hitler's idology had been one of love not hate?
Would his message have been as strong garnering him the same blind following or was his power to draw people to his cause more a function of his message of hate rather than his charisma?

No. But that's just based by my observation of human nature.
Seeker of Truth. Dispenser of Wisdom. Protector of the Weak. Avenger of Evil.
I think a message like that--not necessarily love but nonviolence, MLK, Gandhi--works with a truly oppressed class. And the leader(s) have to be truly gifted. But when you're trying to arouse a dominant class that only imagines itself to be oppressed--Hitler, Trump--you need to stir up hate against the imaginary oppressors. Something any idiot can do. While Hitler was a charismatic orator he was hardly charismatic in other ways--by all accounts he was a weak, indecisive leader who benefited from the Machiavellian talents of those around him. Do the math--it's a lot easier to come up with names of demagogues who preached hate than leaders who preached peace.

People love to feel like they're a part of something meaningful, because it helps give their lives meaning regardless of effort from within.
And the easiest way to engender allegiance to one group is to find another to demonize.
Add to that how nice it feels to blame someone else for your own lack of success, and you have a very easy recipe for why Hitler did so well and would never succeed with a more positive message. And the continued success of Fox News.
However many are in a shit ton.
Hey go moan about humanity somewhere else, this is the random question thread. My question is, has there ever been a more redneck name that that of new Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter?

You can't?
There is Scripture where Jesus explains that when you make a scene out of praying publicly you get your reward from other men not God. Prayer is to be done in private. Matthew 6.
I’m Christian and have a problem with group prayer being conducted on public property. Simply put it’s using a public resource as a gathering place for an exclusive religious activity.
