I think waxing maybe. When I pine tarred my skis I just hit the stuff directly with the flame with a flame spreader. Same technique as making creme brulee. Or maybe I was doing it wrong. (And the wax I just rubbed in.)
I just googled bonna 2000--they're asking 3 times more for those skis than I paid for them new. Even allowing for inflation it seems high. Of course asking isn't getting.

I don't think the cartridges are available anymore as it appears to be gaz, like the bluet stoves. I can't figure out what to search for to find this tool.

Has anyone here ever actually used Flex Seal? Did it work?

I've got this humidifier with a big one-piece formed plastic pan at the bottom, and the pan is leaking but I can't see the crack or cracks, I was trying to think of somehow to waterproof the whole big pan and Flex Seal came to mind. Yes I know I watch too much TV, thanks.

We put some flex seal on my fiancé’s old roof. I forget why. It wasn’t leaking, but she wanted to do that and I said “ok!” Maybe it did something. I remember being skeptical that we were doing anything good. Went on easy though.
    focus.

It's an Essick (or AirCare, same thing) MA1201. I tried to order the pan but they're out of stock. Hm, wonder why?

I had a random leak where a deck ledger beam met the house. Undercut the trim and sprayed flex seal. Fucking shit worked. Didn’t expect it to.

I assume your idea is melting P-Tex into the crack and I, for one, am completely on board with this plan.

Random thought… I was trying to think of places in the US where you can see the most states. I’ve come up with Mount Washington and the five states of NH, VT, ME, MA and NY.

This is the random question thread, random thoughts are down the hall.

But I am not having any luck thinking of another place where you can see 5 states (and a Canadian Province, maybe 2 or 3 if you can see New Brunswick or Nova Scotia from up there) never mind more than 5.

The 4 corners and the 5th is a state of mind.

And you can’t see shit from Mt. Washington.

I can think of a few other “4 states” locations…

    - Probably somewhere in the Idaho Panhandle
    - Top of the Willis Tower
    - Possibly Block Island

Or if you're in Utah the 5th is a state of grace. And I agree, I've been on top of Mt. Washington a bunch and can't say I saw 5 states.

There is a 4 corners in Canada as well - but it's in a mosquito and horsefly infested muskeg swamp.

3 and a province. The 4th is a long way south or east, depending on how you define your panhandles. Is Oklahoma too flat?

    Random Unthreadworthy Questions

Oldest has a school trip to Colombia next Spring. There’s currently a level 3 travel advisory which is giving us pause. For those with more experience, how concerned should we be? Would you send your kid?

Does the school and the staff going have experience doing similar trips?

Are they staying away from that listed "level 4" areas?

With yes answers to both questions, I'd be comfortable sending my kids, assuming they had gotten old enough to appreciate the trip.

FWIW, I work for a school that just scrapped a planned March trip to Peru. The deciding factor as I understood wasn't just unrest, but specifically the impact on the areas where they had been planning to be. If they had been planning to visit less affected areas of the country, the decision would at least have been harder, although they may have reached the same conclusion (some of the travel disruptions have the potential to create significant logistical issues even if they don't present safety challenges).
