I'm gonna make an X with 2 4x4's with a lag bolt and wedge the thing under the trunk. The little project will give my dad something to do too.

    TR forthcoming.

Ya or nay? Discussing flying to Yurp mid September. You have to wear a mask on the plane and we are vaccinated
Bad idea? Should we wait to April 2022 when the airfare is $2k more per today's quotes?
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I just removed one from a rental that was growing like that. Fuck it.

I wouldn't go. Not for safety reasons but because of the hassle/uncertainty/restriction factor. Who knows what restaurants will be closed, what tests you'll have to be done, what rules you'll have to follow, etc. One risk is that you'll be stuck coming back if you test positive--currently required for reentry to US--even though positive test may not be significant in vaccinated people. When I go on a trip I want things to be as loosie goosey as possible. YMMV

I'm going in October. It's not really any cheaper than usual but I haven't seen the family in almost 3 years now and it's getting old. Keeping an eye on the Delta variant, trip is insured, nothing to do but wait and see...

Pffft, I hope the policy specifically states in bold font it covers for Covid, as we had a trip planned April 2020 and the policy specifically did not mention Covid when purchased in February 2020, nor anything that could have given John Hancock an out and they still declined our claim. I will never buy travel insurance again.

Is Earth getting larger over time? Because whenever they explore for historical artifacts or dino bones they have to dig and the older they are the deeper they need to go.

Fares will drop by Spring. Buying 9 months in advance usually costs a premium.
For example, I scoped fares to Yurp for November a couple of months ago when they were quoting 1k+. Now they're down to earth around $600.

That said, I'm assuming masks in public indoors to be a good idea for the foreseeable future.

Used to be that buying 9 mo's in advance got you the best deals. I scored $360ish tickets to Spain in Feb 2020 by buying in May 2019. That was about half price at the time. And I bought those long before anyone had even heard of COVID-19.

There are some smokin deals in coach (if your not traveling with my princess) to Yurp September through December now.

Maybe what I've seen in the last 3 months for fares SEA<->ZRH are more covid related than prepurchase related?
Current March tickets for coach are > $1k, but November are around $600.

So Mrs L2S turns 65 in December so will be on Medicare and I likely will need to get new HCI for me. Fuck me, but with a $7k deductible the lowest premium is $750 for me? Any suggestions for the next 2 years?

Fake ID? You probably have an old one somewhere that shows you two years older than you really were. Time to update it.
