Definitely not worth a new thread - I took out some 40+ year old, badly overgrown bushes today and there was a birds nest in one. Now I have a starving couple day old chick begging for food. What do I feed it? Or should I just wait for a neighborhood kitty have a snack?

At the bank there are 4 drive through lanes. I went through the other day and 5 cars were in the face to face teller lane leaving the other 3 lanes empty. Why?

Is it wrong that my mind went somewhere entirely different with this post?

Mom should find them if she can hear them, I'd put the chick and nest or what remains of it as close to where it came from as you can and in as safe a place as you can and call it good.

My La Sportiva TX4s have suddenly started creasing over the base of my big toe when I walk and causing serious pain. I probably have put 100 miles on the shoe before this randomly started.

How do I fix it? Get the shoe wet and then cram something in there to stretch the leather back out?

Anytime a human disturbs a nest, the chicks are toast. Just hit them with a maul and end their suffering.

It's a myth that animals won't care for young that have been touched by humans. I'm okay with maul use in general but not necessary with the chicks at this point: https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/...t-their-babies

How young exactly? What's the veal equivalent for poultry?

    where I come from, it is not legal to make a u-turn if anyone is within 100feet of the intersection ;

[ right turn on red ] still means you have a red light, until the intersection is Clear ; it does not mean IF you stop at the red light, you have any right to go Next ( it does not turn a stoplight into a STOP sign )

    good luck. skiJ

Looks like a perfect set up for the insurance companies--they declare you both at fault so you both have to pay the deductible. (Pro tip: and never get into an accident with someone who has the same insurance as you. You both will ALWAYS be at fault.)

Hah! Not so. Mrs Cruiser was waiting to enter the underground parking garage when the woman in front of her decided to throw her suv into reverse and back out because she couldn't get her ticket to print and the arm to raise. Backed right into her without ever really giving it a second thought. Despite both parties having state farm, Mrs Cruiser paid no deductible and even recovered additional compensation for diminished value.

Spent an interesting week in Zoom jury court being defended by Jake from State Farm. 3 year old fender bender. Bad back guy represented by Dewey Cheatem & Howe. It was like a Seinfeld episode. DC&H played the jury like a cheap fiddle and Jake took a hit but we came away with no rate increases. Everything is jake with Jake by me.

Not true. A few years ago we had robins build a nest on our carport despite our discouragement. Came home from work after a string to find the nest upside down in the driveway. One baby under the nest and one flopped nearby. Thought I was going to have to use the maul but the missus said let’s see if we can save them. Put the babies in a box while I put the nest back into place. Wove twine through the nest to keep it in place. Put the babies back. Next day mama was back and the babies survived. It was cool as they were learning to fly, they liked to hang out near me when I was outside. They’d come right up to me, not afraid at all.

How much did it cost your wife to bribe the woman she rear-ended to tell that version of the story to the adjuster?

U-turner has to yield to oncoming traffic, but you have to yield to him because he has right of way because of the green. You can turn right on red AFTER stopping and yielding to anyone with row.

The fact that a cop didn’t know this ^ tells you everything you need to know about cops.

not sure if the flag decal video was a shot at me for being a right wing usa flag lover or not, but I've been to enough vet cem that i know that 95% of those buried vets never get a flag unless that have good family and even then it fizzles over the years. i figure me putting flags on graves of vets i do not know is pretty outstanding.

and you guys with the red light are right. i do have to wait but even when the light is green many of those making the uturn pay no attention to the yield sign; thos are accidents waiting to happen.

Maybe the adjuster was a new guy. If so he didn't last long. Diminished value? I've never gotten that one. I have gotten well over KBB for a 4Runner I totaled.

Oh you're special, no doubt. But I do bet those vets appreciate the flags. Wait...
