Is that a painted wall? The Magic Eraser might change the gloss, for example if the paint is semigloss the part you clean might become flat.

If the streaks are minerals left behind when water evaporates--ie scale--vinegar or a descaling solution might dissolve them. I wouldn't think that would harm the paint but like the man said, test in an inconspicuous place.

With that amount of condensation, I wonder if you need to take a look at your bathroom ventilation.

We get similar streaks behind the towel bars, I've always thought it was from drops of water from a wet towel when you hang it up to dry. One here and one there and over time, walla.

Perhaps this is more of a random observation than a question but we have no thread for that yet so I'm putting this here.

We had an freezing rain/ice storm a few weeks ago which coated the branches in the trees. I saw no birds in the trees which I assumed was due to the difficulty landing upon and gripping an icy branch with their little bird feet.

I heard that Rivian is actually testing the new long-lasting battery tech the gov't is going to install in birds

ya think the birds just know it's too slippery or do they have to try it first? I'd like to see some video if they have to try it, that would be amusing.

This, exactly. In combination with cold exterior walls perhaps.

Pretty sure it's just drops of water from wet hands when I reach for a towel. These streaks are at or below where towels hang but nowhere else. I do get a bit of condensation at the top of walls and shower ceiling during and immediately after a shower if I run it scalding hot, but the fan clears that up in a minute or two once the shower is done. I don't see any streaks up there.

Why are Bontex boards supposed to go between the liner and the Zeppa and not between the liner and footbed?

I've actually had separate bootfitters put the boards in either location, but all the advice online seems to point to only one way being correct without really explaining why the other way is incorrect.

My tech doesn't put them either place. He puts them between the liner and the boot board. To me that seems the logical way to solve the problem of a foot with a low instep in a boot with a high instep. I don't know how you'd put it between the liner and shell, since the boot board is in the way. Or do you mean boot board (aka zeppa) when you say footbed. In any case, why don't you try it both ways and see for yourself if one works better.

What I get for posting while the coffee is still brewing. "Between shell and liner" should have mentioned it being placed on the zeppa. In other words, asking about outside vs inside the liner.

I have actually tried it both ways (the aforementioned dueling bootfitters moving it around) and the "wrong" way (inside the liner, under the footbed) feels roughly the same as the "right" way for taking up space but with the added benefit of being less likely to slip out of position.

Tognar and other bootfitting suppliers specifically call out placement and say "not inside the liner" though. Hence why I'm curious what makes one way supposedly correct and the other way not.

I'm sorry but you're not allowed to know. If everybody knew, everybody would be a bootfitter and bootfitters would have to find other work. Stay in your lane.

It is true that there's a distinct "Jong" sound that happens when I crack my head against a tree but there's nothing wrong with my boots so it didn't fit in that thread.

Since it was a random question unworthy of its own thread, it went here.

If there's a better thread than either that one or this one, I blame TGR's shitty search feature.

Do random people suddenly head for Taco Bell when that happens?

    Seems reasonable to me.

The search feature does blow. In the future just PM Rontele with your questions.

Why does the search feature identify posts with the key word but not thread titles. If the thread you're looking for does appear it's usually way down the list. Makes no sense to me.

Also, who is Orion? Doesn't sound like a 100 post Jong. More like a 5000 post Jong.
