I'm tempted to insulate our garage doors but the garage door opener is already twitchy--the raising force is already maxed out and I fear the extra weight might be too much. In any case the garage is dug into a hillside so it almost never freezes in there.

Might be time to replace your springs if the opener is struggling with the door's weight. If that's the case then new springs can help accommodate the added weight of insulation

Will mankind ever give up on the idea of god?

You'd think that eventually after a continued multitude of natural disasters and other devastating world events not to mention advancements in our understanding of the universe that ppl would come to the conclusion that there is no god coming to the rescue.

Just think of how many religions there has been since the beginning of mankind. If somebody doesn’t teach us religion, we’ll just make up another one of our own. People are weird.

Sort of like the bell curve for wealth with a leisure class at either end, the exists the need for a concept of a deity - one side that needs a God to save them, the other end believing they are the God.

    ^Ha!

Personally I'd rather believe there is no god than believe there is and he lets bad shit happen all the time like child rape, spousal abuse, torture etc.

When you think about it knowing horrible shit like ^that goes on and still believing is like being in an abusive relationship and having Stockholm Syndrome.

I have a friend who is a devout Seven Day Adventist and she struggles with the idea of sex trafficking. She told me she knows god must have his reasons for allowing it but she hasn't figured it out yet.

What if God was one of us. Just a slob like one of us.

Ghengis Khan as he raped and genocided tens of millions - that were mostly killed by hand. No guns, no gas chambers, just arrows, swords and blunt objects.

I’m sure the Christian god had a good, albeit mysterious reason for letting Ole’ Ghengis wreck havoc on humanity. He loved them!

Religion is a quick way for me to see if we will be on a occasional conversation level or possibly friends. My friends are not stoopid people.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

People are scared of death, easily manipulated, and like to be part of a group.

    Next question?
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
