I had a blackberry for a couple years before apps were really a thing. It's web browser sucked so it was pretty useless except for typing emails and texts, and making calls. Even though it was a work phone I didn't have much need for email access on it. Might as well had a flip phone. If someone made a new one it would have all the apps and be like every other smart phone. Just with a better keypad.

I went thru several Blackberries. Including the touchscreen one. It was simply a glimpse into the future of doomscrolling. The rollerball worked well though. It was a good tool.

She is an absolute goddess. Young fit attractive etc, 11/10 if we're going there. Smart as hell too, recently completed her masters and has a very senior position already.

Her husband wrenches on sport bikes, and assembled the two mtn bikes they ride around on..

(full disclosure - I'm sure I'm reading way too much into this but sure seems odd to me. Hubby is clearly perfectly capable. And for the record I would never cross that line.)
Husband is tired of fixing the bikes. When she asks him to fix the flat he tells her to learn how to do it herself. She does what any beautiful woman would do--charms some hapless fool into doing it for her. I've seen my wife do it a million times. Problem is, she's forgotten that she she's 71 and it doesn't work any more.

But not actually blank because they write that it's intentionally left blank on the so-called blank pages

I feel like Stephen Wright had to have commented on this at some point....

I think this is an artifact of the book binding process. Think about folding a piece of paper in half, that gets you four pages. If your content is only two pages, you have two blank pages.

For old school binding, you couldn't just cut that piece of paper in half because you had to stitch through the fold into the binding. For a modern glue binding, I assume this is not an issue and you just have the exact number of pages you need.

The idea about the pages on the other side of the binding is correct Still a modern issue. I'd call it more an issue of printing versus binding. Printing signatures are generally going to be 16 or 32 pages for economy of scale. Cheaper to print a 32 versus a 16 and an 8 and a 4, so leave 4 blank pages at the back. But then in official documents, you can have people wondering if some text got omitted by a double sheet going through the press. So it's clarified by the disclaimer.

I like to look at the map and take a bearing to identify peaks but I’ve been accused of being a Luddite

I was in the CO mountain club back in the day, and wayfinding with a compass was a lesson in wilderness trekking class.

I like the solution in the alps. On top of every pass we crossed on the Tour du Mont Blanc there was a board with the skyline peaks labelled.

If you were subjected to music 5 days a week, several hours a day at work with lyrics containing the constant use of the n word, what would you do? Mind you after asking others weekly for the past 4 months if we could not play this stuff. This is a work environment and frankly I’m really sick of hearing it. I’m about to send an email to the HR inbox as I keep dropping hints this music isn’t exactly appropriate. Nobody seems to care. Months of this shit is really wearing on me.

Found this on top of a mountain in Italy. Coolest thing I’ve seen.

If this is somewhere where customers/clients can hear, maybe get someone to pose as a customer and complain

    I would sing along

Raises hand. I mean, I listened to a bunch of rap, including NWA, back in the 80s and 90s, however, it's not appropriate for a work environment. The catch is you gotta fly me out there 1st class, preferably during ski season, and hook me up with a MMJ card. So it all depends on if the juice is worth the squeeze.
