This 'hidden' mount is pretty slick and saves you a g at least by not requiring that heavy steel bumper the overlanders love to have but never use.

I'd buy sliders, skids and a winch long before I ever touched the suspension.
Agreed on the priorities there. And I don't think the aftermarket bumpers are a high priority on a GX, either. You can chop the front for a little extra clearance of you want and the rear is generally not in the way.

Mine with 375,000 was in better shape than this one. This looks like it was sitting in a salt water bath for a year...

This is $33900 you could have bought it for less in 2013.

Mine did great in the snow again today. It was $21k with 65,000 on it a few years ago.

This one is $10900, I like the color but its got 160,000 on it.

I was shocked when I sold my '07 for a bit over $8K with 375,000 on the clock.

I know Toyota trucks hold their value, and that these things are becoming a bit collectable, but those prices are fucking stupid for those listed above.

My advice: buy a bunch of FJs down here in salt-free God's country no matter how beat to shit they are, truck em all to Denver, profit.

Yeah, at that point I'd go buy a 100 series every f'in time. Or a new Taco. Or a new 4runner. Or a gladiator (can I say that in this thread?)

Oh I know. I'm just saying before buying a $40k FJ I'd buy a brand spankin' new 4runner.

    i get what youre sayin.

if i were to buy an FJ, i would definitely go the route of 100k+ miles. couldn't really afford it any other way.

looks like i'll be waiting a little longer for a new rig since my dad bought himself a new 330ix yesterday. hopefully my burban doesn't shit out before then.

No more grandma's GX? A really nice FJ pulled into the lot next to me this afternoon with a 4 sale sign in the window. I was checking it out when the owner came out so I asked a few basic questions - 160k, some recent services done, relatively new 35" tires with sharp looking wheels and an OME suspension but otherwise mostly stock without too much rust underneath. Overall not too bad for maybe $8k but WTF is he thinking at $35k! He said he was picking up a few last little things to go home and detail it for the guy that was coming to get it later this afternoon. $35 muthafuckin grand!

well, the gx was contingent on my dad buying grandma a new whip so idk if that will happen now.

$35k for that is fucking ridiculous. i can't even fathom that price without some nice ass front and rear bumpers or something. honestly, i can't fathom that price at all. fucking ridiculous.

That’s crazy. I’ve got a reservation with Ford for a new Bronco for less than that.

Yeah I've been wheeling with quite of few of the FJ guys and while they do pretty damn good my wifes 4runner does just as well. As someone with 3 toyotas at the house(4 if you count the one with a blown motor) I understand the Toyota tax all too well but fuck me if I'd throw 35k+ at that abomination of a "cruiser". Shit buy a 5k beater and put 30k into it for a really nice rig.

But they're worth what people are willing to pay...

That's what I don't understand is why are they willing to pay it? It's another one of those "don't shop with your own wallet" things I guess. I know when I sell things I consider frivolous and unnecessary I have to think like a dentist not a career bike and ski guy.

Feeling better about my 2012 FJ w/100k and in solid condition given I’m wanting a full size truck right about now [emoji41]. Like everyone has said: sight lines aren’t great but i‘ve dug mine. Rallying down awful FS roads is fun. Never had a single legit issue with it.
