As far as living goes, i think living in jackson is the best option. You have the bus access around town (free) and to the village (free w/ ski pass). Yeah, it can be cheaper to live outside of town like in wilson or victor, ID but it's harder to get around. With gas prices these days you're better off living in town or sucking up the extra 100 or 200 bucks a month and live the high life in the village. As far as jobs, i found the job fairs to be the most useful which usually take place around the end of october. I made the mistake of moving to jackson in sept, right at the end of the summer season and the beginning of the dead and awkward fall when no one is hiring. So don't make that mistake, unless you don't mind digging holes for a temp agency... Basically just ask around alot, the best jobs are the ones that are found through word of mouth, most of the jobs were snatched once they hit the papers (every wed as mentioned above). Other than that, it's kind of hit or miss but fun either way. Goodluck.
