I love the model rockets. I might go get a more complex one to build. But kids just love em. And they take off running after em and they go high as fuck, it's a hoot. Stuff little green alien guys or army guys with parachutes in there so when the charge shoots the parachute out, a bunch of little green men also parachute down. Good times.

We should do a SLC maggot rocket launch summit. Kids can come too I guess. [emoji3]

I'll be there.... in January. I think I'm settled on that kit and probably another themed rocket, a bunch of motors, wadding, etc. I'll probably get one of those little altimeters that you tuck inside, (the boy is a bit of a data nerd.) and a bunch of ancillary crap. I'd like him to have his own setup so he's not taking scissors and glue, and all the other shit from around the house. I'm still trying to talk myself out of the model with the nose cone camera. Maybe for his birthday in February. Thanks Y'all.

Workin on the Mojave. Needs serious love. Have gone through and put new bearing on the rear corners and in the gearbox. Replaced some steering parts and bearings to remove the slop. Gotta do the corners on the front and should be back in action.

Tekno SCT410.3. The clumsiness of the clods makes them fun.

I asked about servos a while back but not sure I followed up. There is a ton of rebranding and marketing garble to sift through. Played it safe and ordered a couple Hitecs since they are familiar.

On transmitters, has anyone had both Futaba and Sanwa? How do the brands compare? Leaning mid-tier Futaba since I've used them in the past and since they have a bigger US presence but could be convinced to go Sanwa.

With half of the family home with the flu I finally assembled and set up a Retropie for the kids. We're not a video game family, but I thought the kids might enjoy some of the classics from the 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis era.

I have both a sanwa system and a futaba system, and the sanwa one is mine. For my car. I like it the best. It's not a real fancy one, mxv. New mx6 looks the same. We have the futaba 3pv as well, and I like the feel of the sanwa.
Stay away from Amazon servos are shit. Hitec is good, have a hitec that has survived a 1/8 Mt and now lives in my very abused Mojave.

^ Went with the Futaba. Only reason is they seem to have a bigger presence in the US. Maybe that works out for warranty support, maybe not.

Anyone want a Castle Sidewinder SCT ESC? New in box. $50 split shipping? Sending it back otherwise.

^^^^ Awesome! Had one for years. It went through many different incarnations, but spent most of its time as a truggy.
