    Dizziness

I woke up at about 130am last night after having been asleep for maybe 15min. I open my eyes and look up at a wall and the whole room is spinning. I lay back down thinking "wtf!?" Close my eyes and it feels like im on a fucking carnival ride. So this morning I wake up and the room hasn't stopped moving.

It only got a little better a few hours ago.
I'm not very nauseous, just from being unbalanced and all.

Anybody with the same experience? What can/should I do?

    (and no, I didn't drink)

If you're drunk and you're having this happen then I would say yes... There have been times that the world seems to be spinning around me while I'm in bed (last night). If you weren't and your not sick, I'd say go see a doctor...

Sounds like an Inner Ear disorder. Better check it out. Skiing just around the corner.

It sounds like an acute labyrinthitis. (Meniere's is similar but is actually very rare and often misdiagnosed). Have you had a cold recently? Often these things can trigger inflammation of the inner ear canals or labyrinthe, hence the name. It is worth still getting checked as recently my boss displayed some symptoms similar to yours at work the other day. He had an MRI it was actually a stroke at the back of the brain. He'd been working with his head in an akward position when we were building a rig for our experiments.

If it is your inner ear, it should completely resolve in 12 weeks as long as you don't avoid things that make you dizzy. Be as active as possible. If it does persist, "vestibular" rehabilitation is very effective. A specialist PT can provide this. There are a set of exercises called 'Cawthorne Cooksey' exercises that if done diligently, can be effective. I'll see if I can find you a few links.

This is something I know a lot about and have treated many people with this condition so feel free to PM me if you want specific advice.

    Hope this helps.
