I agree. Oregon mainly has ski areas and not ski resorts. Sort of different. I’ve been packing snacks in my pocket and avoiding going inside the lodges at all this year.

Can we get some more pics in this thread? Life in the covid trenches has me bummed. Let me live vicariously through your shredding.

Looks like some spaces opened up for today. Fingers cross that the same occurs for tomorrow.

Because some people just want to see the world burn? Or maybe they are contrarian? I don't know...

What I do know is that in times like these, kindness goes a long way. I've already seen some escalations in lift lines where someone rather rudely got after someone who forgot to pull up their mask. It was meet with an equally unkind response.

Shit is hard enough already during the Covidz; no reason to make it shittier. Everyone has to take a bite of this shit sandwich and I've found a bit of kindness and courtesy goes a long way.

I agree. Which is why I am respectfully and constructively going through management to see if they will modify the protocol.

That’s also where I was impressed with Doo staff. No COVID shaming of people in line, most of whom probably legitimately just forgot to pull up the gaiter, just a friendly and very quietly stated “excuse me man/miss, can you just pull that up for me while you’re in line?”

Timberline lifties were great and did what they were supposed to do. It was just outside of the lift line where some people acted like it didn't matter.

Spent a week at JHMR last week, and this is how the lifties there were handling things. But there were also several ski hosts with yellow and black jackets out and about, and they were thanking people for visiting and for wearing masks.

It was clear to me that the lifites at JHMR and gone through some type of training on the COVID.

My point wasn't lifties; the ones I've seen have been great. It's been other skiers and riders being assholes to each other. Or more precisely, some classic PNWet passive-aggressive whisper-shouting.

Regardless, a reminder to be kind to each other, even in the lift line.

Yeah, lifties are doing the best job they can despite the covid crap. It's clients.

Snagged a parking spot for Thursday! Was just about to shut the old working computer down for the night, and thought, let me just peak at the parking situation, and saw availability, pulled the trigger on the ParkingWhiz app, and bingo! First lift severed at Bachy awaits!

Now, the $699 dollar question is; what do I need to do in regards to using my Ikon Pass? Do I need to stop off at the Customer Service window? Or can I roll right up to the lift, like one can at Crystal?

    the boy turns 16 today

i got him a bunch of shirts: us ski team & on3p [to go with his skis]...and a porsche
(the kind you pull back and let go :P )

he's not that enthusiastic outgoing little munchkin anymore -- full-on sullen/shy/obnoxious/tho-secretly-pretty-happy teen

in other news, it looks pretty spitty on the hill?...hopefully we're not missing too much...he has some test stuff to deal with prior to winter break today

any chance the pineapple shifts & comes in colder for the weekend?

Didn’t make it up today, got pulled into work calls. If you went up, it’s a Billy Goat kind of day! I’m going out skinning tomorrow w/ a friend, looking forward to that.
