If my OG brain serves correctly, similar outcome in just about the exact same spot 5 or 6 years back .... right Jimmy?? Once one starts heading up the traditional headwall ascent of The 'Pfeiff, shit gets serious REAL fast!! Glad it wasn't worse.

Wouldn't it be nice if the LCC resorts would do what A-Basin is doing.
Next season we are going to continue to restrict our pass and ticket visits. While reservations will not be required for our season pass holders, we are going to limit the number of passes that we sell. In fact, we are going to sell 10% fewer unrestricted passes next season than we did this season. On top of that, we will continue to limit the number of lift tickets sold each day and all tickets must be purchased online and in advance. ...Our target will be to have a “comfortable” level of skiers each day.
Where's the PCMR reporting spot that they pulled their 11 inch measurement from?
I was skeptical as well. Their snow cam images show intense snowfall from 0100-0400. 11 is a stretch but I see 7-10 on the 2 snow stakes
I've backed off that ridge on a couple of occasions over the years. The wind pillow that forms up high can be downright monstrous but the winds slabs below tend to be less impressive and easier to ignore. Going for a ride at any point in the ridge would SUCK, these guys definitely took the best-case scenario fall...

Man charged with trying to destroy trees blocking his view at Snowbird
SNOWBIRD — A Sandy man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly tried to kill trees that were blocking his view at Snowbird Ski Resort.
Gabor Koltai, 73, was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court with criminal mischief, a second-degree felony.
On Nov. 2, an employee at Snowbird Ski Resort saw a backpack being lowered by a rope from a room, followed by a man pouring a substance around a group of trees, according to Unified police.
When questioned by Snowbird security, Koltai said he had requested several times that Snowbird remove the group of trees because it was blocking his view, police stated. Snowbird determined that the substance Kolai had poured was gallons of diesel fuel near the tree roots, according to charging documents.
Unified police determined Koltai poured an estimated 30 gallons of fuel over ten trees. The damage and cost of cleanup was estimated to be more than $20,000, the charges state.

It was good snow. A lot of fun. Wondering how it was in LCC. Only 2” reported there. Wouldn’t be surprised if they also enjoyed a sleepy pow day.
Steeps.... It’s all good

unfortunately, not so much, even near catherine's pass. only places we were making tracks even close to that deep were..... not soft cold pow. skiing still pretty nice on the steep shady N though.
Shit, I woke up to a foot at my house. Didn’t even know it snowed. Zero wind

I rip the groomed on tele gear
I'd like to take advantage of this rare PC dump this evening, shame the BC access is so bad. Did Summit Park get any of this pow?
5 or 6 in Timberline, but it’s melting fast
How’s Brighton and the Bird? Trying to decide whether it’s worth the drive up from Moab tomorrow or if I should hang a right at 70 and try to catch the dregs from this weekend in CO. I want to do a tour in the La Sals cuz they got like 2’, but they still haven’t plowed the pass.
You’d be better off coming to the RFV.
It going to turn blue and be epic spring skiing thru Saturday.
I went to Summit Park, yeah very hit and miss haha, warm temps really did their thing yesterday. And the main lot was full at 6pm!
The 11 inches was real. Thigh deep turns with no bottom on the steeper parts and some corn on the solars too.
No one else in the satch apparently wanted to find the one spot with the deep band so the trail breaking was BRUTAL. I don't often/ever break a lot of trail around here. woof

Very nice! I was torn... late afternoon lap or golf in the valley. I chose wrong - rained on me. Oh well the beer was cold and flowing in the lounge. Happy to help hoof and trail break in exchange for a round at Hidden Valley... my partner’s on the mend so am keeping my solo walks in the meadows...

Wow! The skiing has been fantastic the last week. What a difference it makes to be able to use the full compass cause you don't realize how much you miss north-facing shade until you expect to ski crust one morning and are blessed with soft snow in yo face. Plus daylight savings time is here! I may be in the minority here, but I fuckin' love it. Easier to catch the sunrise and ski after work. The birds are singing, the sun is shining, and we have a snowpack to ski on finally and most salt laker skiers are already gung-ho on biking or climbing or some other stupid summer sport like golf. Spring is in the air, the Alta Bombs are flowing, dogs are being grilled..... Thank you for reading my blog, below are some photos taken over the past 10 days that I haven't previously posted
Rewind back to March 8th..... Should have seen the beat down coming when the day started like this......
but we're stubborn so we marched on, plus the views were nice
Stoked to get to peek in this west facing bowl (bummed we didn't ski it sorta) Here's the view with my ugly mug in the way
like I said nice views
And the skinner out
Nordork is pretty much over, much to frank's disappoint
this ridge is neat
getting real good at the shot in the back as you ski away crap shoot
milk was a bad choice
quiet wasatch, scored first tracks in some meadows
scored a nice sunrise from a ridgetop
One more shot in the back crap shoot
Go get some cause its gonna be over before you think
