Had to get the powder out of my mouth. Got a few minutes, here.
0545 Lisa Falls natural on the road, 8' deep. Been 60? years. That mudslide greased the lower track last year, still.
0600 UDOT plow and snowcat hit and buried by another natural in the turnaround top of 7 turns. I think that's the Oak or Acorn path. Largest event there I can remember.
Crews climbed out their windows and walked down to just above Lisa Falls. Still there, trapped.
Things running far and fast; 6.5 inches of water in 6 days will do that.
Gotta be some massive naturals going on where we had junk snow on the ground on W, N, and E on slopes that haven't slid yet.
Gonna repeat this: these are conditions to trigger large slopes above from the flats, maybe even from the opposite side of creek bottoms...
    How to deal with the Coalpit paths 1-4 without a heli will be a challenge;
best thing for the LCC and BCC right now would be a window of clearing to get a bird up for control work.
Don't hold your breath for 210 to open 'til then. Speculation on my part, however...

Edit: Only avalanche fatality on 210 since the mining days was a plow driver in the 1950s.
Unbelievable that there hasn't been a major catastrophe on that road.
Highest hazard index in the country on account of the red snake feature.
    Only a matter of time...
    Bring on the gondola, eh?

Thanks TFW. Enough info to tell my kid who is trying to get up on snow that he needs to find another place besides LCC today. It’s appreciated.

    Stay safe out there.

Dawn patrol with a few other hearty souls in BCC low angle terrain. Almost too deep to ski meadow skipping terrain. BCC going up at 530 was as bad as I have every seen it when open - basically one way travel.

No signs of instability or anything more than new snow sluffs in the very mellow terrain we were in.

That's where the Lisa Falls landslide crossed 210, the gulley. It's maybe 100m below Lisa Falls/Quarry parking.

That would be the Lisa Falls debris pile based on where that cam is located.

Edit: SJG beat me to it.

I saw a snowcat on top of it around noon and was ?, then read TFW post. Looking like it was at least one cat deep.
