Beautiful morning out there. No wind, nice sunrise, hardly any people. Backed off of a lap in Days after talking to some guys who had the skinner collapse and crack on them but it looked tasty.

Man what a give and take kind of season already, been a tough go! Been battling a lot of injuries this season already from an impacted hip from a long heinous lead fall and then shin splints / tweaked knee; but today is the first day on skis this season I haven't been in pain hahaha, doused myself with Bengay (2 years) and IB. So nice out, journeyed up to 10420 and had the whole place to myself until 1145 or so. Made 6 Laps! So nice, once the sun hit, it was strong!

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I honestly think that people should be publicly shamed for the decisions being made in the Canyons periphery today. At multiple times I told my girlfriend we were about to see someone go for a big nasty ride/die, it looks like a few close calls after we got out of there.

He took an avy 1 class this past weekend and now he’s virtue signaling for his girlfriend. It’s the natural arc of the backcountry skier.

I guess not, but now is a great time for the UAC to try and make some changes to their messaging?

Or a change of tone from the patrollers at the 9990 gate who tell the lemmings/volunteer stability testers to have an excellent day before they head out the gate without gear or a clue. One asked me today where the best coverage was, ha wrong question.

eh, not the trollers job to stop people killing themselves. there’s a big sign with a skull and cross bones, and otherwise you can use the magic computer we all have in our pockets.

Sorry but something about coming around that turn into the top of Schuss and seeing nobody on it was exhilarating. Just point them. You can get some pretty good speeds up in that short pitch.

This rip out of W. Monitor doesn't look like a catch and release as reported by UAC.
