2" is boot deep for my 2 year old!! Her first ever powder turns and she was grinning from ear to ear. She's been talking about getting freshies in the pow all day now. Good to run into tfw and Tula out there today!

That was a great day for 2in. Riding up after being a ways back first thing, I kept thinking, why is no one going out the high t? Got to piss pass, and there were zero tracks anywhere to be seen. Sleeper, no crowds. I think the ikon influx is real.

Yeah, Snowbird was mobbed last Wednesday, yesterday and today not so much. If it’s quiet on Tuesday we can be assured blackouts make a difference and those fuckers are infiltrating our mountains.

Skated up to the top of the rope tow today. Crazy that the second and third laps were easier than the first. It was after 3 so the skating got better as the day wore on.

Just a little bit of graupel goes along way! Few locals out skiing and tourists afraid of the high T. Which is surprisingly good right now. The drop off in skiers is pretty noticeable.

When I pulled in and parked today, I knew where the boot deep was, and then realized you two skied it out. Such a good picture with your little ripper.

I was wondering what happened as I was parking up top on a Monday afternoon. It was a good day even with a slight breeze

Forgive me for saying this as solitude skier for over 30 years, but today deer valley was better by a magnitude of about 10times. Solitude yesterday was hardpack central. Deer valley today skied really nice and was not very crowded at all.
Commence my beat down but I feel better saying it out loud

Interesting as I was at Deer Valley the last two days - yesterday was ice everywhere, today was better but still not great. Was going to ski Solitude tomorrow, the new snow should freshen it up.

As we wait for 2020 to end so the storm door can finally reopen, enjoy these screenshots that Evan Thayer put on twitter from an exchange with our 2nd favorite Alta skier (behind Kevin of course):

Hey everyone, I'm looking at driving up from Las Vegas to ski alta n snowbird sometime this month and was hoping to get some advice. Is it worth waiting until more lifts and terrain open up, particularly at alta? I grew up in tahoe I'd be a little bummed if there wasn't much steep terrain open yet. Thanks!!

Tons of good stuff open. Both skiing great. Traverses are still bony (hiT is not too bad, cirque traverse is bad, but doable). Bring wide rock skis if you got them. Alta backside and high Greely have good coverage and are nice right now.. Keyhole and wilbere bowl area are nice as well.

I’d suggest waiting for more snow. There are still a fair amount of rocks showing and it is a little scary opening it up in steep terrain because i feel like I might hit a rock on any turn.

If you are only going to get one trip up here, I would say wait until the base is closer 65”-70” range. Should make for more fun

How bad has traffic been getting up BCC? Taking the nephews to solitude tomorrow. What time should we be in the canyon?

Spent all day lapping Catherine's today, it was skiing really nice in there. Couple inches of soft snow above a pretty decent base. Basically no one was over there, everyone was preferring to ski the tracked out moguls under Collins.

Don’t confuse me with the facts. I enjoyed it. Leave me to my fleeting joy.
