it’s in an IG story so I don’t think it can easily be embedded, at least not by me. from the looks of it argenta went nearly to the bottom, like to the top of that first flat area ~600’ or whatever up

Holy shit! Def wets the beak
Decisions Decisions
I'd pour one out for the shrubbery but my bet is that it gave no fucks and barely suffered a couple of broken branches. Only way to clear that shit is a massive spring gouger. Or it has to grow big enough to lose its flex, another 20 years or so.
The Stairs slide was juicy too...

[QUOTE=telefreewasatch;6235203]Having a photographic record of the range this year, at least mentally, is important.
If something slid deep x 100%, why couldn't one play there next storm?
Problem may be how to get there and get away if travel is under slopes that haven't slid.
Especially after a large water/wind event when triggering large slopes above is possible from the flats in years like this.
And it sounds like one is brewing.
Avalanches that run uphill after crossing bottoms occur around here. Look at runout trimlines.
That W Porter sure was a runner...
So, looking at Tim's videos, where would one go skiing with 8" of high density?
Amended from the original foot.
Stairs? Fuck no.
Coalpit 4? Fuck no.
Place me on top of Main Argenta please...
Trick is getting there safely, eh?
Time spent skiing cannot be deducted from one's life.
I had a day like that there....I think it was 1997 when the P-Dog got hit. We were sitting in the Rustler bar and watched the slide come down. An hour later we were skiing straight line to the lift. Road never opened chest to neck deep 3% density snow. Entire day is burned into my brain so fucking good.
I got up at about 330, and though the country clubbers pretty much tracked the whole place out, there were still good turns to be had.
Props to UDOT for getting those roads cleared, and the patrols for opening the terrain.
Anyone deal with a repair like this before? Am I fucked? First time cracking a sidewall. Edge is otherwise intact.
Got a little too frisky in supreme bowl on Sunday. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0pzO...HrbD2jy1A#Alta

RIP ... I was particularly fond of these powder skis
Also looks like you left foot booted a stump/rock at 0:08. Could have been a tib/fib or MCL rescue under the chair so silverlinings
But youre right - Im lucky to not end up back at the ortho.
What’s the consensus for tomorrow?
New storm rolling in tonight, albeit much smaller
I can’t imagine much terrain opens at Alta or Snowbird tomorrow if the storm materializes tonight
I’ve also seen reports of resorts advising guests to wear beacons
I normally ski alone at the resorts. Happy to strap my beacon on, but won’t do me much good if I’m solo. Never skied my airbag at a resort before. Am I crazy to be considering it? Something about this snowpack is giving me all sorts of flashbacks to the last few inbounds avalanches at Alta and Snowbird.

Nate, crazy story, holy shit.
123pee, I usually avoid avie terrain if I’m spooked. Especially small pockets at Snowbird, I’ve set off 3-4 small slides at Snowbird solo. Took one ride into a tree even.
