    Freeride World Tour

Loving this season. Finally catching up so I can click on this thread. Great skiing.

Still chapped that they place the results above the replay. If anybody knows anybody who cares about those of us who catch up later, be neat if they could just put those AFTER the replay. Feels so obvious.

ETA: looking closer (which I was explicitly trying to avoid before) you can jump to the replay. It still just scrolls you there quickly but I suppose that’s mostly there. But still. And there’s a replays link too. Ok fine I’m done bitching.

^^^ just Google "freeride world tour [kicking horse] replay." You'll get assorted options that'll take you straight to the replay, including just watching it on YouTube (but obviously don't look at the comments).

Yeah I’m smarter now than I was when I made that post. Still seems like they would prioritize replay watching and be more sensitive to spoilers than they do, given the worldwide reach and challenge of time zones.

Probably the most excited I get about any sport when something happens like Abel’s line. Knowing it’ll be eclipsed is fun but sort of a bummer.

Just catching up with Kicking horse, man Peiffer nearly took that drone out on the massive air. I don't think the drone pilot was quite ready for that

Yeah, this Challenger is a good watch. But I feel bad for the athletes having to exit their runs through that chunder.

Separating the men from the boys, I guess.

I really like that venue, so many lines in that face. Afte all the problems the other groups had getting a clean run, Carl comes out of that gate as the first skier and just absolutely destroyed it. And he didn't even have the best run!
And let's go Cody! Made the cut fuck yeah

I skied with George Rodney's dad today. Great skier, good guy.
We're both old, but charged hard, because conditions were good.

Charging shit fuck, life threatening conditions, for little money, is just stupid.
The ski industry has a very short memory. Yesterday's glory, won't get you shit today.
Being able to ski or even walk, at 70+ is really nice.

Now get off my fucking lawn.

Not sure what your point is, but I would wager the most long term dangerous thing about making free skiing your career path is the summer job that comes with it, especially if it’s construction related. Pay is better though. Personal gratification not so much

As another old-guy judge, I am gonna go ahead and say that today’s athletes are incredibly smooth.

Today’s athletes are not breaking themselves the way we were in the nineties.

Of course they still wreck, but let us be honest— this is a new sport. And athletes of today are way safer/smarter than we were thirty years ago.

There was more snow in fieberbrunn during the September dump than now. I don't see an event there....

My thoughts exactly subtle, i just can't see it happening. It's supposed to run between the 8th and 13th? No chance. So what do they do instead?

Finally got to watch Georgia. That's a great venue - glad they waited out (most of) the snow stability issues.

Also, Rafford should've been in 2nd.

Ross Tester chasing his ski was one of the more impressive things I've seen on the FWT.

The hitzig jump looks like rocks in the takeoff.
The hausl looks like rocks in the landing lookers left of it.
    Hard to armchair this.
You can move the timestamp to 08:10 then there is sun in the face.

Just for comparison what a good year like 2019 or 2021 looks like on March 4th

To celebrate the two recent victories of Marcus Goguen I got myself Marcus Goguen edition skis. I‘m quite disappointed as they don’t ski nearly like Marcus Goguen.

    Okay, I see myself out

Yeah those kids get small bucks compared the risk they take. But the Rodney pyramid will stay!
