    Bike Stand

You get that directly from Soul, or did you go used? I wanna know how the 18" feels once you get some ride time on it. Strictly street, or all-arounder?

Oh yeah, shifters shipped on Saturday.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I will get those XT V-brakes out later today. Minus the fixing bolts and washers, can't find em.

    Tuesday update:
    Nothing...

Nothing came, so its cleaning other parts and some other miscellaneous crap.

Gonna re-shim the chain guide out a little more just to get it dead on squared up and straighten the guard out slightly.

    EDIT:

    Guard pounded flat.
Guides on chainguide cleaned out and cogs thoroughly degreased and bearings soaked in Abu Garcia reel oil (this shit is great for working bearings back into happy shape).

Did some cleanup on the BB ends and crankset and everything fits happy snappy.

    Day 3/Wednesday update

Got rims (Thanks a TON Gill, I owe you some Brooklyn Weisse)
Picked up an FSA Pig headset, gonna take it down to the shop along with a 6 pack later.

Nothing else has come yet, fork expected on friday, shifters and brakes expected "whenever".

Still on the hunt for a stem and front hub.

I think I have an old stem floating around. It's a 120X6 though. Is that too long for you?

I have a free 20mm front hub for ya, it just won't work on Marzocchi lowers (or you just have to slip a small bmx 20mm spacer on one side, which I,ve done). PM me an addy and I'll ship it out.
    Oh yeah, 32 hole.

    What day is this again?
    Whatever.

DR and shifters arrived. (thanks bag!)
    Slowly getting closer to completion.
Not really much to take pictures of, but once things start coming together I'll take some more pics.

Fork is due for arrival tomorrow and I should have the race for that pressed late afternoon with beerz in tow.

Just a note on pins falling out of DR's.
    Clean them thoroughly.
    Not just a little.
    Degreaser and denatured alcohol.
Then break out the permanent locktite.
    It will hold them.

A new day and more toys arrive.

    Fork came. (Thanks Quint!)

We're starting to actually have a bike.
I'm gonna hit up the shop for a stem and get the lower headset peice pressed onto my steerererererer.

Need a shifter cable and brake cables (pick those up too) then I can start setting up the bike for reals.

    SLAMMED

Hub = won't fit with zocchi forks.

Annoying delay there. Guess I'll chase another hub/rim.
If ya want it back train, I can ship it up to ya lol.

The issue with the hub is there's two dimples on the insides of the fork legs that the spokes strike on.
So I'm up a creek with it.
The hunt for a front wheel goes on.

Gill: I was thinking of these

Nothing to add from the weekend etc.

Still waiting on my front wheel, and waiting for my brakes to arrive.

Drivetrain has been set up (still gotta pull a couple more links out of the chain)

But other than that, I'm stuck here waiting!

Picking up probably Holy Rollers instead of Hookworms just to have a little extra dirt traction (yanno... cutting across parks etc.)

    1 brake has arrived!
    the others are awol.

But its time to go sail and drink beer, so the rest waits till later!

    So close, yet so far.

And I decided on Holy Rollers
Probably switch to a Holy Roller front/Hookwork rear (per suggestion by a bike shop friend)

I'd just like to add a thanks to everyone who sold/donated/gave advice on this build. It was fun to do even though USPS pissed me the fuck off on multiple occasions.

I owe you all a beer.

(and i just ordered maxxis hookworms and a shorter stem)
