Thanks livefreerdie, I haven't done any restoration outside of some wetland stuff, I know some of the native veg out there but not all so might take you up on that. Is there a fast growing bunchgrass or something native that is typically used in that type of habitat as a replacement, if you know?

Honestly, it's so bad in places I'm sure it would be a huge undertaking, but there are some relatively small patches in areas surrounded by mostly native veg as near as I can tell (my ex has done some botanizing out there too, she's a far better botanist than I am). It seems those could be nipped in the bud, but this is new ground for me other than my own properties where I have just pulled it up before seeding. Probably a well established seed bank in those infested areas in the Scratchgravels I would guess.

Update: Judge Morris denied summary judgement to plaintiffs and granted summary judgement to BLM. Nice to have that resolved.

The Montana Bicycle Guild is moving forward with trail construction according to the recreation management plan. We have the first alignment flagged for BLM approval. And Helena Ales for Trails will be supporting trail projects in the Scratchies. If you're around Helena on September 6th, come support a great event for a great cause.
