Anywhere that's 2 hours from Troy is worth checking out, because youve gotten 2 hours away from Troy.

I think he got caught in a problem login loop. He posted on the discord thread again yesterday.

I did another huge loop yesterday, 724 miles to Rochester and back. Google Maps sent me down some really cool, quiet farmroads with farmstands filled with goodies. My tummy is less than happy this morning, lol. Drought is starting to be a problem in most of the Upstate zones though and farm activity is strange, as noted last week.

Over the last few weeks I have noticed a disturbing trend and it was really apparent yesterday. The amount of semi traffic delivering regular consumer goods is down A LOT, truck stops are very quiet, rest areas almost never get filled up anymore and the trucks that are out there are driving like fukn nuts. Yesterday the big takeaway was just how many construction and trade related big trucks ARE still out there, like that is what is driving the upstate economy right now. There are almost no Canadian plates to be seen anymore, they all bailed on us Small manufacturers of all types seem to be building themselves up and many of them appear to be hiring so if you are a welder or machinist there seems to be some opportunities. M27 if you are seeing this you can confirm; It also looks like the tourist traffic on the Mohawk River and Erie Canal is way off from the last few summers. While business seems to be chugging along ok and most of my customers are not hurting (yet), in fact a few are setting records for themselves, it is strangely quiet at places that are usually busy in the summer. Strange times...

The other important thing I noticed is the overwhelming LEO presence. It almost feels like they have a mandate to replace some of the revenue that is not otherwise being generated around the state. Starting around 8am yesterday every single rest area was an inspection station and there were lots of officers and what looked like DOT inspectors crawling over and around every commercial vehicle. At one on I390 there were big rig tow trucks lined up and removing rigs. Speed traps are fukn everywhere! Watch yourselves.

Woah, how does one lug cases of UC abroad? I know m27 has taken it as well, but can’t remember how you show up with a 12er and a customs form.

Hardest part about doing it is just remembering to pick up the beer before you head out to the airport. And that aint all that hard.

I usually get my tickets on United cause I got one of their credit cards and they fly out of Syracuse. That gets me a free checked bags in addition to piling up some mileage. At my status level, I am allowed 50 pounds per bag so that adds up to 100 pounds with my check bag in addition to my ski bag. I am not even sure what more I could bring to break that fucking weight limit… my two week trip to Japan with two sets of skis, skins and way more hats and gloves than I actually needed still only came in at 75 pounds with the beer!

A 12 pack of Utica club weighs about 10 pounds. I usually wrap it quite well with saran wrap and anticipation of possible container burstage. Though, amusingly enough, even though my ski bag is completely fucking destroyed by malicious baggage handlers, I have never once had a beer can pop in transit. And now that I have said that out loud, the jinx is probably in.

The only country that has needed my Utica club to be declared before I showed up has been Japan. But, as usual with government, that was less to do with the beer itself than to do with the efficient collection of the proper taxation.

That, and the Japanese just love them some Official paperwork. Give them something to stamp with their official stamp, and their day is complete. And I must admit I do get a certain satisfaction about being able to make a bureaucrat smile.

The Chileans and the Canadiens on the other hand really couldnt give a shit less because a 12 pack just aint that much beer in the first place, eh? Gotta be more than 24 before they give a shit.

Ive always wondered what the TSA agents think of that 12 pack they see every time they open up my ski ski bag for inspection whilst in transit through the caverness innards of DIAs byzantine baggage handling system.

Ive been quite surprised that nobody has snagged one on its way through the system yet. I wish I could say the same for the bottles of wine I tried to ship home from Sicily when I was stationed there. It was about 50-50 if a bottle was gonna make it past Those fuckers behind the counter at Italian post office.

Last flight, I piled in all of the cards that I collected from when tsa leave behind em when to let you know, they done been rummaging around in your shit again. Must have been 20 of them. Actually got a reply on that one. Guy made a big smiley face with a sharpie and wrote a note that said good try!
