That's a quesadilla.
That's a quesadilla.
By the way, if you google "argue about where upstate ny", this thread is second. if you ad the "is" at the end it's 5th. Keep it going. I think we can hit #1.
That is some impressive shit. Might explain why the thread has a 1/3 of a million views. Which is also some impressive shit.
Yeah, but we're still no closer to answering "Where is Upstate?" We are very close to finalizing the southern border near I-84, but ongoing attempts by some of the WNY, Finger Lakes, CNY and 'Dak crowd to identify as their own region are making things difficult.
This thread is an awesome mix of homerism, nostalgia and stoke. Nice work boys!
We owe a debt of gratitude to concretejungle for creating this space in the land of 0's and 1's for us. I recall when it was much more of a haphazard affair in a variety of threads.

Much like the Upstate, the discussion is still scattered all over the place.
This thread is a wonderful central depository of information through.
I still call it The Jake.
So, just to circle back to Watertown, would you guys consider it CNY, or the North Country?
Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident
North Country. It's a total CGS (Coffee, Gas or Shit) town though, never stopped there!
Looping back a page, I feel like the upstate is where much of those old 1950s style Betty Crocker casseroles might have been invented.
Growing up my mom would make one that I know some of you from the Upper Great Lakes Region have had. It was white cheese macaroni, diced up pieces of thick ham (like Honeybaked) and peas. I think it was called Mediterranean Macaroni Casserole or something else fancy like that despite having exactly zero Mediterranean ingredients.

Exception. The snow is consistent enough that there's some good nordic going down.

Love the conditions report from today:
Last Updated: 01/22/21 7:00 AM . ROLLING. SOFT AND STILL LIGHTLY SNOWING. WE RECIEVED AT LEAST A FOOT OF SNOW OVERNIGHT AGAIN.
You can hear the exasperation in the person's voice as they typed "AGAIN".

That there is snow machine country too. That topic alone could push us past 150 pages.
I went to school with this dude from Pulaski. He had some snow stories.

Pulaski is a great Upstate name.
