Gonna do a Southern Tier and Fingerlakes lap today and tomorrow. I'm excited for the visit to Kissing Bridge to hopefully have one of my lines become the primary helmet brand for the bike park.

Break a leg.
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
Good luck, GL. In other Upstates news, this guy is trying to set the fastest record of completing the 6,000 mile Great Loop - except the Erie Canal may slow him down. Oh, and he’s doing it all in a fucking jon boat. https://13wham.com/news/local/boater...-robert-youens
I still call it The Jake.
He made it to Paducah Ky yesterday.

Wonder if he’s going the Mississippi route or the Tom Bigbie Waterway route through Kentucky Lake (which would be my preference in a friggin jon boat). Either way, he’s hauling ass.

If you haven't driven Rt 20A from E Aurora to Canandaigua, you should. It's really pretty with a couple of good farm stands and breweries along the way. A few of those ridges surprised me as they get to 2k feet. 505 miles on the day with 7 hours of nonstop rain. Yay![]()
That rain I thought was a problem turned out to be quite the opposite. It kept the traffic and the bugs down then everything greened up and popped when the sun came out the next day. Rolling up and down through the Mennonite farm zone between Seneca Lake and Keuka Lake after sunrise was one of the more pleasant drives I have had in some time. It was one of those windows down, rolling along pretty well below the speed limit while sipping fresh, hot coffee and nibbling on warm cider donuts as the ground fog rose with the sun. There is a contentedness through this area that seems to loosen my customers wallets which makes it so worth a slow roll through their zone. The beer, whiskey and wine options are pretty fukn special tooThen you pop out into the chaos that is Watkins Glen but the rolling jewelry show through town with the sounds of classic Jag and Ferrari V12s makes the time spent sitting outside the brewery, not working, time well spent.
Thanx for reading my blog. Haha
Anytime. Let me know if you're ever up in the North Country.
Gonna do that loop this week. Placid > Saranac > a few tiny N Country shops then Massena > Potsdam > Croghan > and a few more over there. Big loop but the 2 in Plattsburgh are a waste of time so I'm not gonna bother to go that way this time.
Fukn feds wearing masks... They're doing spot vehicle checks on back roads in the N Country. I got stopped yesterday along with a few other vans and SUVs with tinted windows for a vehicle check. Fukkers are a pain in the ass. They make you keep your hands on the wheel then complain the doors are locked and they can't open them. When I said I have to put the thing in P and unlock them it got a gun stuck in my face. I was allowed to use one hand and then they ripped the doors open aiming inside. They told me I should start traveling with my birth certificate or passport to make "these things" easier.
What the actual fuck!?!

The whole time they scream at you, waving weapons around and just generally making you feel like yer fucked and the world is ending for you. Another thing that feels like Germany in the 1930s, - Papers, we need your papers!! I think I want to stay more than 100 miles from our borders now after being pulled over up here twice now for essentially the same thing.
I need to start paying more attention to this thread, my kid starts at RPI in a few weeks. What are some must see, eat, drink do recommendations within a 2 hour radius of Troy NY? thanks!
All of the farms in this area there's nobody working. It's crazy. I think that's why those guys are there looking for those farm workers.
That is some serious gestapo type shit right there. The Boarder Patrol checkpoints used to be bad enough (haven't seen one of those in northern VT since pre-COVID). Coming at you with guns drawn is a whole different thing. Who is going to be the martyr that stands up to these assholes and takes a bullet so that people can see how far this country has fallen?Fukn feds wearing masks... Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.</p>
"Am i under arrest? Am I being detained? Am I free to go?"
I got a little better insight as to why they were there and what happened. Apparently they were at a farm down the road for whatever reason and they came up empty-handed. So, they went down the street and started stopping every vehicle big enough to hold more than just a driver.
Oh, regarding proof of citizenship papers, they better fucking like my VT EDL with the flag AND the star icon. Its good enough to drive into Canada and drive back into Murica. So it had better fucking be good enough for the ICE thugs.
Still not an excuse to start waving guns around. But I guess DHS Barbie demands the quotas get hit.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Just driving along and thinking 'man there is nothing here for the last hour besides worn out Upstatey-like zones... ' and all of a sudden a really nice looking, well maintained little ski area with a ton of construction going on appears. As I passed it I realized that it was Woods Valley and I had to turn around and go see if M27 was around. I didn't see a Tracker so I took some pics and bailed. Dude, that looks like a gnarly avy chute yer building right down the middle of the hillhttps://photos.app.goo.gl/RuAK7kX5B8jmQMPMA
