Well, until the 1970s, there were two small lakes there, North Lake and South Lake, separated by what I've seen described as an earthen dam but I think was just a narrow muddy marsh. Then the state dug that out and built a new dam at the south end of South Lake, raising the water level, so now it’s one lake and called North South Lake.

So once the lakes were joined. Why didn’t south lake become south north lake? This war of northern aggression cannot stand. Man.

I see pictures of bedrooms but no mention of a home. Is it just the two small cabins? This looks like it has great FastFred potential, they even suggest a glamping resort.

I think I drove through this town once. If I remember right it was completely forgettable, partly due to its middle of nowhere status but also because of it's worn out situation. It is awfully pretty around there though.

Looks pretty suspicious to me. The cabin just has a bar and bedrooms, cooking and (additional?) bathrooms outdoors, horse shoes and a pirate ship outside…. I’m gonna say nudist/swingers/hippie cult retreat area.

edit: not quite close enough to Plattekill for me either. Pass

Google was no help in looking into previous owners. I had a customer in Walton back when Walton had stores. Dress shop owned by two brothers who came to see me at the trade show in Cuse to do business 3 times a year. They'd hook up with two ladies from a dress shop in Malone and make it a weekend. If you catch my drift.

I visited Walton once, bought some hi-fi equipment at a ridiculous price. Vowed to never return.

That compound looks ideal to run a budding meth empire out of though. The stripper pole in the bar is a nice touch.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a place to lay your head on your next ride?

You could have races around the lake. You already have a Start/Finish pole

I've skieeeed there. You get a lot of laps in.

Seems like the real estate opportunities are really opening up in the Upstate.

It's that sweet spot between the thaw, mud season, pre-winter, stick season, and cold grip of the tundra seasons. Lotta realtors out there gotta pay to get to Boca for the offseason.

Makes me wonder why we don't own a little mom and pop resort as a collective.

Well if it was anywhere, it might as well be Upstate.
