Unabomber...dude...in 1995 I was voted "most likely to be the real unabomber" at Crested Butte Ski Rental's end of year party. I guess once you see the world the way I do it's hard to just decide not to see it that way.
So much other stuff was pissing me off yesterday though, I was really considering breaking some shit, it's a good thing some good friends came over and rescued me.

Everyones's entitled to a bad day. Good thing we have this post to vent on. Funny shit that you were voted unabomber at the rental shop. Rock on dude, and like I said before - I applaud your lifestyle. Sweating out a public service job (other than being a cop) is super admirable. Doing so to support a passion for skiing is all the better.

Truth be told too many skateboarders are just big fucking posers trying to pull off the criminal M.O. their sport's been selling. A bunch of fucking punks acting all oppressed--"skateboardings not a crime, bro." It is a crime, it's a mainstream corporate industry stealing money from little kids. Why is it oppressed? because you can't skate at city hall? Take a ball and a bat and start playing baseball in front of city hall and see what happens. Then go out and print up stickers saying "baseball's not a crime," and start selling your sport as an underground sport for rebels. This punk is just a product of that. Fucking coporate swindling posers.

All the skateboard politics aside... I'm stunned nobody stopped that guy after the first smack.

What a psycho. Fighting is one thing, but actually hitting someone else in the head with your borad trucks first has got to be grounds for a slight bit of psychosis.

I wouldn't want anything to do with someone like that. However, living in San Diego for nearly 6 years, I had plenty of encounters with skater 'tough guys.' Most of them are quite harmless, but there is the occasional wack-job, like the dude in this vid.

I get the impression that he's got a crew with him off camera who are going to back him up should shit turn nasty. Therefore, you're going to be in a lose-lose situation going up against the little shit. Look at the big guy who pulls his hat off. His coordination is all over the place when he turns away, clearly had a few to drink. This makes him an attractive target ("see how I punked the big jock").

That is some weaselly shit going on there. I'd probably opt for the "laugh along with him, stick the unexpected big one on him and then run like hell away from his boys" move...

I get the feeling you'd be quite good at that move.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and definitely some weasley shit that pisses me off 'cause I know I'd be too much of a weeny to do much about it),

Most people have one of these in the trunk of their car. Comes in handy for changing flat tires and inflicting head trauma upon assailants. The owner of the car should have made judicious use of his. Followed by a call to the cops, who would have to call the paramedics for the punk skater.

Or at least a baseball bat and some rope, right? I mean, you have to change a tire somehow.

That would be my first instinct as well, but what someone said about one of his friend's having a gun is true. Sadly the best way to stay in one piece in that situation is to slink off and call the cops ASAP. And/or distract the kid.

As a good friend of mine once said:

-If you know you will win a fight, it's immoral to fight that person, and you should run.
-If you unsure if you'll win, your chances are better if you run.
-And if you know you'll lose, get the hell out of there!

People who feed off violence and confrontation are likely to find themselves in situations like this.

There are smart and there are dumb ways to handle situations like this, very rarely is confrontation and violence the "smart" option. Walk softly and carry a big stick is a good way to live your life.

Sometimes the dumb ways are so enjoyable though.

I'd send a cheap hooker with every known STD his way.
