Dentists are neurosurgeons with better hours.

    Dermatologists FTW, IMO.
No one really expects to get an appointment right away, you call your office hours, and *most* of what you see or treat is a precursor to immediate danger for the clients.

Yeah, but you see the actual dentist for about 8 minutes.... even if he's the one doing the root canal. The heavy lift is done by the hygienist.

Meanwhile the dermatologist has the "pleasure" of having to look in all of grannies nooks and crannies.

Yeah, saw a WSJ article about how dermatologists are the current hot job in medicine:
    https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/career...ctors-174cfe53

Makes sense. Good hours, calm practice, don't need to deal with hospitals, and a huge growth in profitable cosmetic procedures...can get that "make me pretty" cash without being a surgeon now.

Dentists are still going to be more ubiquitous though. I think the reason dentist bike is a trope is that they are a high paid, stable-schedule career that exists EVERYWHERE.

They don't make hedge fund money, but they actually have time to ride bikes and they don't have to live in the NYC metro....everybody needs a dentist, people don't want to travel far for twice a year cleanings, and therefore every random town or suburb with a few thousand people has several dentists.

You need about 1 dentist per 1500 people vs 1 dermatologist per 30k so there's always going to be one on the group ride.

    Dang.
    That's a screaming deal.
I bought some off brand carbon wheels with dt350 hubs this fall through my local shop for ~$1000 which I've been happy with so far.
    But Dang.
If i had the funds, I'd pick up a set just in case.

I found that sale the other day. Ordered a rear wheel for the Spur, 30mm wide 29er wheel with DT 350 hub. Perfect timing as I'd been looking for deals on rear wheels because the Stans hub on my current wheel has been acting up. This was cheaper than any AL wheel I'd found with the same hub and specs.

My son gave me this shock. Just had it rebuilt and now the tuning part comes in...which I find to be difficult. So many adjustments.

Trekked all the way to Hayden to pick up this bad Betty. The mental gymnastics involved in justifying could easily land me on the podium at the next Olympics. But we're all going to hell in a hand basket anyway, so f*** it. NBD.

looking to pick up a new trail bike this spring.
GT Sensor deals on Jenson are kind of wild,
Giant has the Trance Advanced X for a crazy good price but I dont know if I want flight attendant or live valve.
any shop dudes have inventory in a large 29er, 140ish rear travel, performance elite grip 2 or lyric?

I've got a lightly-used V2 Sentinel (large) that will be listed pretty soon for sub-$3k... Carbon GX build w/ a Cane Creek Helm and Kistuma Air front and back.

Replaced rear tire with same. Continental Kryptotal-Re 27.5 X 2.4" Enduro Soft, had 1300mi on it. Could have stayed on for 4-500 more. Impressive durability, prob 50% more life than Maxxis DHRs used previously, and virtually same grip. Krypt is faster rolling too.

Yeah my gut feeling is that Conti Soft lasts 3x as long as MaxxTerra, and Super Soft lasts 2x as long. I even run Super Soft in the rear because there's not really any downside to it.

Don't recall where I saw this, but forwarded it to a buddy. Price was $2300 a couple days ago. Still a pretty good deal for complete carbon bike.

This one is real tempting, top end suspension, gx mech, good tires.
I have a former coworker who’s working at GT and they are all terminated in May, so no support for frame or parts after then, though.

That's a great deal. Even if the frame snaps in a year or two, swap the parts over to whatever and you're still coming out ahead.

Andeh, Ur certainly not wrong. I am a cheap ass, I admit. I have finally overcome trying to get the last 10% of life out of a rear tire, tolerating a few rear end washout crashes that result from it. Now I break down and replace the tire before those crashes. Still feel guilty about it though LOL.

But the Conti's wear so well, I think a super soft is in the cards next time. I already bought this soft rear so had to use it up, but it lasts so long the thought of more grip with a SS is inviting. I already run SS/Maxxgrip in front, but appears I'm doing the rear now too LOL.

At Phall Cannondale will have GTs stock of replacement frames and small parts and will be handling warranty for GT moving forward. If you break a GT frame and there is no more inventory of replacements it will likely be replaced with the most similar Cannondale option.
That Sensor Pro LE rides really well.

Anyone have a decent dropper post lever they want to get rid of? Something decent, the one that came with a used BikeYoke I bought is garbage. I could also trade for a pair of new TrailOne Hells Gate grips.

Google for the ZTTO dropper remote. Prices vary. It's an exact copy of the wolf tooth remote. I have it on two bikes.
