    In my opinion...

Religions are just a crutch. Everyone eventually asks the same question, "why are we here?". Religion provides an answer, for many, whether its true or not. Truth is not necessarily what everybody seeks when they ask this question.

    What is your crutch?

I'm out of here... going fishing... now that's religion!

Theologians classify LDS as just one of many Mormon denominations (it's the largest and most well-known), however technically Mormon Polygamy splinter groups such as FLDS are also classified as denominations of Mormonism, so calling them Mormon is technically correct.
Now you are just talking syntax issues. Compartmentalizing these "denominations" is kind of a farce. Apostate factions shouldnt reallly be considered part of a synomonous denomination, should it? I kind of think that there has to be only one legitimate sect, eg, Latter Day Saints, and these splinter groups which have doctrinally gone a different direction shouldnt really be categorized as part of the same sect. After all, they have seperated themselves from some basic principles of the religion for a reason. Most churches have "splinter groups", but once they seperate themselves, they are just that; seperate. Such as protestants, etc. Oh well, I don;t know if I am making any sense... sorry if I'm not.

Uhhh... Do you know anything about the exodus across the US? You should really look more into why/when these "Mormons" put this polygamy" into practice. The underlying reasons are actually very similar to those of the ancients.

Yeti- where did you learn how to repect?

Your ideals sound similar to those who have persecuted and hated other people of faith like Tibet's Dalai Lama (who was also in a presiding seat at a very young age, if you remember)

Anyways- I am not one to participate in an argument about religion, but the naivety of many ignoramuses in this thread is pretty disheartening.

Treat everyone with respect, and you'll get respect. I like to take good things from all faiths, and have faith. Peace. Oh, and here is some good reading:
