All I care about is if they’re going to keep making the front brake unit.

Per telemark pyrenees, new toe pieces are coming in with 4mm taller pin heights over previous gen crest/trofeo toes which should drop the haute route to 0 delta and crests to 7.5 or so

I’ve got some Raider 11 evo for sale
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Except that most heel units also got taller, so it kind of evens out. But of course, it’s ATK so there’s a million different combos of features and pieces,, so check the list for the model you’re considering.

On the 10th Sept I'm doing a days tech/maintenance training with ATK so if anyone has any questions/issues just PM me and I'll endeavour to obtain answers.
Appears ATK corporate has setup shop in Salt Lake City with a service center and other corporate things. Should make for easier sourcing and service.

ATK are in the process of setting up specialist service centres in each country. The ATK guys came to the UK a week ago and I did my training with them then. The guys then headed off to Utah to do the same with the SkiMo guys. And from there they were heading up to Toronto.
I signed an NDA so can't say anything but there's some cool shit coming soon and IIRC they'll go public this Nov for the 25/26 season.
FullStop, I asked about your issue and they were aware of it with certain boots. Their fix is that the 24/25 Freeride Spacers will be supplied with four spacers instead of three (0.9mm, 1.2mm, 2.4mm). The additional spacer is a 2mm that has risers (kinda like a Lego block) to add extra height to the riser 'columns' so all the four shims can be used. If you contact SkiMo they'll be able to get you a set of the new shims.

our local ATK rep is set up as a mobile binding mechanic , so we will have parts and service readily available
sounds like they’re doing training in the US for shop techs like spyderjon did

Am I correct to conclude that now all brake-models require spinning the heel? Or is there still another version? Spinning the heel is a no go for me . . .
ATK clinic was great today - I’m really impressed with their products - they’re new to me and I learned a lot
the thing that I really like is the sustainability program they’ve got going on - aluminum left over from manufacturing is recycled into new stock to make more bindings
new Raider Evo platforms are now aluminum instead of plastic, which makes more of the binding recyclable
less plastic means more of the binding is made in house - as the ATK guy pointed out, they’re an aluminum machining factory, not a plastic injection molding factory
bindings are repairable - individual parts can be replaced - a lot of parts are. interchangeable between models
the binding they were most proud of was the RT 11 EVO - uses same toe technology as Raider EVO with lateral release adjustability - website says 325 grams but the sheet they gave us says 295 grams - we will have to weigh it - either way that’s pretty damn good for a binding that looks pretty beefy to me
https://atkbindings.com/en-us/produc...t&_ss=e&_v=1.0
with a new North American distribution center in SLC getting product and parts and support is going to be easier than is was with BD (in SLC [emoji848]) - it doesn’t sound like they were particularly happy working with BD - they love working with Moment skis
our tech rep in Reno can service and repair stuff we can’t or don’t have parts for - kinda like sending your bike fork out for service
they recommend using silicone instead of glue or epoxy for mounting - not the first time I’ve heard this but first time it’s been recommended to me by a binding manufacturer
I have to say, spending some time with some techs from a couple other shops in Truckee / North Tahoe, I learned a few things about how other places do their mounts and bend brakes and stuff - if you’re not coming to The BackCountry you should go to Alpenglow or Tahoe Mountain Sports if you want a certified ATK dealer to mount your bindings properly - there are other shops that aren’t ATK dealers that I trust and some that I just don’t - ‘nuff said
I got to spend some time chatting with the NA rep from Italy - great guy - you can tell they’re passionate - they’re always developing new stuff - sounds like we will see a new binding that will change the game in one category
ATK bindings get the ~mikey b FKNA seal of approval
where they will be challenged to compete is on price now that Dynafit dropped their retail prices - Radical went down from $500 to $400

a big point that they made that I forgot to mention: the main problem that they see with bindings that are prereleasing is poor alignment - we’ve got to use the actual boot in the binding to assure that everything is lined up properly and to set forward pressure and release settings - internet buyers who buy a ski and binding online and have things mounted with just BSL rather than a boot are often the ones who have problems
also, they’re trying to build a binding around sooo many different boots - someone with a 24.5 carbon tour boot might be in the same binding as someone with 29 crossover freeride boot and they should work consistently with either one - that’s a tall order
safety and consistency is things they are after
also, skiing with locked toes doesn’t do shit for changing your release value - most of the release is in the heel so doing that does NOTHING
as Nonna says “UNLOCK THOSE TOES!”
