All it will take is one disgruntled person, and an entire trail build can be shut down until the State of Utah investigates the complaint, up to and including the court system. It’s a Nimby’s dream come true.
Isn't the whole point of public comment periods to allow people to voice opinions and concerns on projects, so they can be evaluated and addressed in the project design?

yes, you would think that's how it would work, but this bill gives Karens a new way to derail trail development after the public comment process has occurred.

It actually already happened last summer in the Avenues that was mentioned by Bolssal. For years, Salt Lake City was seeking public comment on a Master Trail development plan for the foothills. Then they broke ground on the new trails and within months the development was derailed and halted by NIMBYs that lived in the area. Some trails were 90% complete and now they just sit there waiting to be finished. This bill seems to allow for a new avenue for Karens to de-rail trail development. Hopefully, it won't get out of the House.

Also, who would have guessed that a "rapper" (or whatever genre you want to place Post Malone in) would be such a Karen. I'm gonna hike that trail behind his mansion naked just so he has to stare at my white ass all summer.

I'm not aware of the timeline, not sure if one is in place for that section, but I am not as involved in local land management as I used to be so can't say for sure

Anyone interested in free Giro Carbide R shoes? Size 47 but I feel they run small. More like a 46.5 or US 12-11.5.

Used for maybe a couple hundred miles. Footbeds unused. Never really fit my feet well and I’m tired of seeing them in the closet.

shoreline from zoo to dry creek is pretty much bone dry. Rough riders/the N facing descent into red butte still looks real spicy and icy. Trail ran it on Saturday.

The Trail Alliance of Southern Utah posted about House Bill 227 today. Seems like a real doozy that could hamper trail development in Utah.

Weaponizing users against each other. What could go wrong?

Sold: REI co-op Rev 16. Basically new. Ridden maybe 1/2 to 1 mile total. Our daughter never got into it and she’s now too big for it.

    SOLD

Anyone want to trade a DT Swiss Micro spline star ratchet driver for a DT Swiss XD Star Ratchet driver? The XD is off newest 350 hub, never seen a cassette.
SLC area, I’m lazy and don’t want to deal with shipping. Think the Micro is slightly more expensive, happy to make it fair if need be.

My garage is way more of a shit show, I get it about that organized then try to find something and start a bunch of avalanches and put stuff back “tomorrow”.
I got impatient and just ordered a Micro today. I'll either keep it or, ..........I don t know $40 for a new XD if anyone is hurting.

hopefully you read this and don't go looking for it.

If you don’t mind KSL, you might have luck listing it there. I was able to sell two DT star ratchet XD drivers the past two summers for $50 each. They moved pretty quickly if I remember correctly.

That's good to know. I'm going to have an I9 Hydra HG driver available soon and it will be nice to get a few bucks for it.

Anyone need weenier 29” tires? I have a pile that would be serviceable if you are not afraid of old tires (stored inside)
Free, figure I can hide them in the woods in a trash bag or something and provide GPS coordinates. It’s almost Easter.

    Geax AKA 2.1(?) 80% tread
Geax Mezcal: semi slick, not newer Mezcal pattern. 2”(?) 90%, patch in center from nail wound.
    Rocket Ron 2x: 2.2”(?) 70% , crazy light 2016ish design.
    SB8: 2.? 80%
    Juggernaut pro: 26x4, paper thin 835g 70%
Some other crap tires, most full of sealant residue.
Rear Bontrager Line Comp 30 TLR Boost 29 with XD driver. Found it in the dumpster, one dent, looks fresh for a dumpster wheel.

The importance of riding with people who are willing to try stuff, get shut down, and smile about it:

Agree, it's so nice to ride or ski with people who just like to be out and have a good time no matter what. I never not have fun on skis or on the bike, having a rad day is just bonus.

Ventured into new (to me) terrain yesterday. Full on moto land with lots of chunder, pointy rocks, fall line slides for life in loose as shit terrain, overall very fun stuff. Already borderline too hot, hopefully we get a bit more cold weather to go back and ride some of the other lines.
I finally got to play with the Gnarvana in terrain that justifies a bigger bike and what do you know, it gobbles up anything I can throw at it...

I'm sure a post about a group ride with Trails Utah will follow any day now....

My expectations have dropped so low that as long as I Street won't be touched IDGAF any more.
