Looks Like Its Time To Pack My Bags...

... and move to Colorado Springs.

As of September 7th I'll be doing biomechanics research at the Olympic Training Center. I'm looking forward to it, worried about financial aspects, stoked to move from NH to Co, but hoping the drive isn't too lonely.

Any information on the area or anyone want to chill? 'cause shit, I'm not gonna know a soul out there.

Co Springs is changing, some for the better, some for the worse.

It's got a huge ultra-conservative population, but at the same time there are more bars, restaurants and cultural offerings than 10 years ago when I went to college there.

The outdoors oportunities are great-- really under-rated. There's good mountain biking, rock climbing, backcountry skiing, fly fishing, etc. all within an hour or so of town, and some within an easy bike ride.

Denver is only an hour north so like BZ said, you gotta come boozing.

Checkin back on this post is getting me pumped to head out there. I've spent a summer in Jackson Wy, but this is the first time I'm moving west of NY.

I'll be damn sure to make it up for a few rounds. I'll even try to swing the first few on me...

Can I dream about being in a land of beautiful women who crank their bikes and shred just as hard as I do? In the east I'm missing a density on cute outdoors girls because I'm not from a resort town. But frankly I can't think of anything better then meeting someone to ride with... or a gold medalist... i think i'm hooking up with a gold medalist for sure.

Sorry to be a sad nerd, but what area are you researching? I'm a PT doing my PhD involving mucho gait biomechanics. Maths sucks.

I'll be working mostly with resident athletes, namely the Olympic weight lifters.
Most all of the teams will be rolling through and I'll get to work with them too.

For right now I've been doing alot of research on changes in variables (max split, horizontal/vertical velocity, trajectory etc etc. ) for pairs figure skaters going from doubles to triples. And yes, Its exceedingly boring because whelp, figure skating sucks.

note to self: XTP is intent on nailing womens wieghtlifting gold medalists.

Just keep your hands off my sister . . . then again, she's not a gold medalist.

    Is she up there?
The lack of a gold medal this isn't so bad... I bet the non-medalists are cuter and cooler then the gold medalists anyway.
