Is Harry O's going to be open by the middle of Nov?

How about a showing at my bar in pc some time in sept? What does it take to get that moving?

    1. Yes. Or so I'm told. I'll be getting an update in the next day or so if they are on track to be ready. If not, UH OH!

    Sky box sux
bad food, horrible service, average av.

I was just at the new Lumpy's downtown last night and my friend from Cali was going on about how if he had a bar like that nearby it is where he would show Surf vid premeires.
I told him it would rock for ski ones too.
    check it out seriously.

I have been to the new Lumpy's. First thought was "Can I show a movie here?" Way too small, unless all the tables were pulled and it was standing room only. It's better than Suede, I guess, but not as good as Skybox or Harry O's.

Rumor is that Skybox is buying a $40k projector for the big screen to improve video quality.

    cool
maybe they can get some decent servers too and quit losing all the ones that are any good.
sorry to throw some shitty in the thread but I only go there now for your vid shows, and it is the closest bar to my house.
and it seems lumpy's with every booth filled ( vid show in the booths too ) would be equivelant to sky box, but I know you and I am sure the numbers have been crunched.

thanx for puting so many shows together!

    chill my brother, chill.

Brewvies - Dec 8. Avie benefit show

We try to advertise the other shows first and then clean house on the avie benefit show (which I put together each year) and donate all the loot to them. TGR donates the show for this use each year and should be given props for doing so.

So get your fix at one of the premiers, and then catch it again for a good cause, more stoke, a double header (this year's other feature still in the works) and good food/brew from Brewviews.

I would like to host a showing up at my place but some technical issues need to be resolved first. For instance, when are the tv's and projectors showing up? We are still waiting for phillips to send them our way, they say some time this month. It wouldn't be a huge showing, more intimate since our fire code capacity is 150, but I think it would be a nice change from the cattle car feel of harry o's and suede.

And plus I like ski movies and want to show them. In fact, I want to do a month of ski movie stoke prior to the season getting going.

Thinking there is a hole in the schedule during the first or second week(end) of oct. or so.

Why do you think they call it a super show? There's nothing super about 150 dudes in a small location. Intimate? Yea. Fun? Sure. Super? Not really what TGR likely has in mind when they put together the Super Show tour. It's no secret that HarryO's management sucks, I'll agree with you there. Trust me, I've been on the wrong end of some raw deals with them and the Supershow, but the reality is that it's the best venue in town for a big party, show, band, winter stokefest all rolled into one.

Since I'm not the man in charge anymore, I have no say in what happens so I pose the question to you - Don't you think it would be a bit strange to have a movie premier in your bar to then turn around and have a "super show" of the same movie on the same street in another bar just a month later?

I'm not trying to take the wind out of your sail, I just think that showing it at your place a month before the Super Show, although it would be cool to have the maggot connection, shows you aren't thinking of it from TGR's perspective but from the perspective of just another bar owner in town trying to sell a few drinks. You're a good man B and a hard working one too. Take a step back and look at the whole picture. If it looks good to you, full steam ahead.

I'm not sure I came across right with my last statement. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a super show at harry o's, nor should mine be billed as a super show. I like going to the Super Show's at Harry O's even if they are cattle cars.

My beef is that the first bar/party show is not until Nov 12th in Park City. We're already skiing by that point and if you're trying to provide stoke for the upcoming season I think it should be before you actually start doing the activity you are getting stoked for. I think there needs to be one earlier in Park City, and by doing one the first part of october it would fill that void.

I'm not looking for super show billing or anything to that extent, just a movie showing. If they don't even want to advertise it with their stuff because it's different from the supershows, then fine, my staff will take care of that. Maybe it's a change from other types of showings that TGR has done in the past but if someone wants to show one of their movies in a different type of venue and pay for it is it so bad? After all, don't they just want to show and sell a few movies? Is their motivation all that different from mine?

I'm not just primarily thinking of it as a bar owner, but I'm thinking of it from the perspective of a TGR movie watcher and an avid skier that has an avenue to make a change. Perhaps I'm off base...

Even if they brought Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and SRV back from the dead for a one night only show, I still wouldn't go see it at Harry O's: THE WORST BAR EVER and I've been to some real shitholes.

Oh wait, I'll have seen it at the gothic (a very nice place to visit) a whole month earlier.
