Looks like I'll get to keep my $5 bet on Mt. Hood being the first ski town to get infected.

What pisses me off with the virus arriving in CA is that we're more likely to get it in MT. It's the perfect storm for some rich trophy wife to carry it up to their second home in our state.

Maybe they will stuff a jade egg up their cooch to ward off infection.

I’m not worried about death. I’m worried about overwhelmed health care facilities, schools being shut down, police and fire and truck drivers being sent home for two weeks etc etc etc.

Is this the end of the world? No.

Is it potentially a huge issue until there is an effective vaccine? Ask China what life’s like there right now and imagine that for 6+ months.

Switzerland has banned public gatherings over 1000. Canton Bern just announced no more than 250. Up to 15 cases in CH.

I don't know. I think most people's answer to the author's rhetorical question "would you take an over the counter medicine if there was a 98% chance it was safe?" would be a resounding "no" rather than an "of course, I don't know why I was worried about so etching with a 2% fatality rate."

I don't believe that tweet ever happened. Google it. The only sources you can find are hard right wing disreputable sources.

Yup, the bizarre capitalization of ‘Balance’ suggests a Trumptard created it.

it's not Trumptards that create things for the gullible. Things like that are created for the sole purpose of pushing us further apart.

How does Lake Oswego = Mt. Hood?
If that's the case Tahoe's suburb of South Sac had it way first. Just sayin.

    Well, no.

The number of deaths is around 9% of reported infections. That isn’t a mortality rate and likely has more to do with testing and reporting. The same ratio is less than 1% in South Korea.

Take that with bag of rock salt pellets. They don't have the testing ability and official reports are thought to be complete BS. The number of high ranking officials is crazy.

    misinformation in/from Iran- https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-51677530

Actual number of infected is supposed to be near 20,000 (study) - https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-c...virus-outbreak

Death toll in Iran over 200 hospital sources claim - https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-51673053

That indicates that ~75% of their cases are not being identified due to poor screening and testing.

This. School potentially closing is giving me a lot of anxiety. And what it's going to do to my business in an already tight Boulder market (real estate). Sure I can work from home but are buyers still going to fly here? Will sellers keep their homes on the market and let people from all over the place walk through?

I'm healthy as is my daughter but being cooped up for weeks and losing business is really stressful. I know 5 adults in the last 12 days that contacted the regular flu.

Boulder isn't panicked yet but one confirmed case on the front range or summit county and shit could get ugly. I went to Costco on Thursday and the greeter guy was wiping down every cart handle before they let you in!
