Hilarious how you've repeatedly stated you have me on "ignore" (like I'd take offense to that or something) yet somehow keep responding to numerous posts of mine. Hmmmm..... It's almost as if you never truly put me on ignore to begin with. Also, being a free country and all, you're totally free to just scroll on by. I don't GAF. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Fucks sake.
One, if you can't let kids run race-pace without wearing masks, don't hold a track meet. (I helped out with timing yesterday at a middle school track meet, as it turns out; kids wore masks except while racing.)
Two, actually kind of impressive that, even running at a 4:20 or so /mile pace, masking makes only a marginal difference in one's aerobic performance. Given that it almost goes without saying that it should make some difference.
And three, someone red-lining for two minutes at 95% of v02max is of zero experiential relevance to any of the dumb schlubs who would think this story supports the anti-masking cause.
So I just had eye-opening experience about Covid testing.
I was waiting in our local Urgent Care clinic (see Gimp Central - Flexor Tendon Rupture) when a lady came in. Said one of her co-workers had tested positive and she & her three roommates were told to go to this clinic for testing. The other three were in the car
Receptionist tells her that her copay will be $75 because she's out of network. And same with the others (except as noted below). She has to go back to the car to get her wallet. Comes back and sez she doesn't have the money but can she write a post-dated check.
Answer is No
She sez one of her three roommates is on our state Medicaid and the other two don't have insurance.
Receptionist sez the uninsured price of a Covid test is $500.
So they all left without a test. Doubt they are gonna get one either.
Next person in line also needs a test but his insurance is recognized by the clinic so copay is $20
He sez "I thought these tests were free."
Receptionist sez "that's the misconception. What happens is your insurance company gets paid by the fed government for reimbursement. You are still out the copay though". No mention of how to get reimbursed if uninsured.
How many things wrong can you find in this picture?
I understand the sentiment here but I was just in an airport a couple weeks ago and no one was spaced like that in any of the lines and I doubt they are in most airports. Another exaggerated right wing meme to make a complaint against any attempt at keep cases lower.

Perhaps we shouldn't be crowding on to planes during a pandemic. Perhaps we should shut down travel to limit the spread of variants.
Been wearing mask outdoors since February. Will continue until cases are again very low. It's the cheapest, easiest partial solution that many are too dumb to recognize. And it'll lower your track time by 3 seconds - so much for all those oxygen limitation arguments.

How Covid Upended a Century of Patterns in U.S. Deaths https://nyti.ms/3sLyGXw
Is there solid evidence that hydroxychloroquine has benefit in covid patients? Lots of people screaming it’s a cure to the whole pandemic that is being ignored. The president says he took it along with antibiotics and he beat covid (using dead baby science but we don’t talk about that part)
What is a “less that deadly dose of bleach”?
Yes, but his sarcasm was pretty clear, too. Sarcasm escape velocity?
Sarcasmception?
I wasn't sure he was being sarcastic - I'll chug a beer and take a full lap.
