Padded Room

Has anyone here actually been in a padded room?

If you were not in a bad state of mind...I think it would be really fun.

In fact, I'm certain I would pay money to be put in a padded room where I could freely hurl myself at the walls repeatedly. It would be even better if they were "springy" padded walls. And there were strobe lights, and they were playing all my favorite tunes.

My mom was a nurse, and one of the rooms on her floor was padded. It's actually not that soft.........just enough give to keep you from really hurting yourself.

Maybe you should just gorilla glue a bunch of mattresses to your walls at home.

Sprite, you have to sneak into one of those inflatable fun houses that they have at outdoor events. The ones where kids bounce up and down. What a hoot!

I got permission to climb inside one of them a few years ago to take some photos for a newspaper. I wasn't having much luck getting a good shot because some of the kids were doing the "take my photo, take my photo" thing right in my face. I asked them to just have fun and ignore me, but of course that wasn't going to happen.

Finally I did a couple of big bounces myself to get some height and then dropped a nice cannonball in the middle of the fun house. There were little kids flying everywhere, hitting the ceiling, off the walls. It was hilarious. Made for a nice photo too.

Sure did get hell from the guy running the thing though.

Can a determined enough crazy still kill him/herself in one? Seems like you could still run into a wall and break your neck if you really want it done. I would think electric walls would work better than padded ones.

Yeah, I'm thinkin'! Like a whole bunch of people, very mosh-pittish. But you'd have to wear a suit like the michelin man, maybe with a little added helium for fun.

Suits like that could get hot and gross though with all that running around. Perhaps completely naked then, or simply have really good ventilation happening in the suits.
