clarified:
1) Buy one second hand from the local roadie classifieds. Put a lower end cassette on it if it doesn't already have one. You can buy a decent wheel for pretty cheap from a racer. Weight doesn't really matter if it is for the trainer.
2) Put a touring tire on it since they are wider heavier and more durable than racing tires.
3) Most people return old parts to the owners since they sometimes have extra bits that are needed fro the next time you need to scavenge (lock rings etc). Call them and let them know you still need the old cassette.
